| I think a lot of white people tend to take themselves and their opinions very seriously, in comparison to other races. If there was a headcount of annoying pretentious gits around the world, I think white people would also win that one. |

Too true about the pickled herring. Even Koreans don't like it!
Last weekend watching TV with my gf, there was a "Sandwich Grand Prix" with interesting sandwiches from around the world, with an all korean judge panel.
One of the European sandwiches was picked herring. i didn't know what the sandwich was at first, all the judges were gagging and my gf kinda was too. once i figured out what it was i said "Hey! I love that stuff, every X-mas and my grandpas's place we'd eat it!"
of course we used pumpernickel or a dark rye bread for the sandwich... yum. |

So you agree with Korean hagwon owners: teaching ESL IS for white people.
Except many of us have done it for more than one year. And teaching ESL isn't exactly "taking a year off" in a lot of cases. It can be just as hard/stressful as some white-collar, "white man" job that apparently minorities covet (judging from the final sentences of that post).
That's kind of my point though. The site is inflammatory and I am surprised it is not flamed more. I think the runners of that site are basically thekindofpretentiousminoritiesidontlike.com |
It's funny. One should be able to make fun of oneself. Regarding myself, a good 75% of the stuff on that site is spot on.
As for the Korean hagwon owners: no. I never said such a thing. It's just a funny post that is supposed to make anyone with a sense of humor laugh. |
