I've obviously been very aware of this but I've never actually thought about it until now... I mean, I'm pretty sure I did it in England - albeit pronounced correctly. And I wasn't alone in that.
However, most other words similar, like SOPA - SOFA I spend a lot of time going 'no! it's FFFFFFFF. watch my mouth... FFFFFFFFFF' and so loads of kids are now going soFFFFFa' I dug my own grave.
In terms of grammar, I also haven't thought about 'I'm finished' or 'I've finished' etc, though I will starting in 1.5 hours. I often get them to ask for paper in full sentence and the like, always a great feeling when you hear it without having to tell them. They LEARNED. |
