me too then... he speaks the truth..

they are the same..

i can pull 20 female students out to the front of the class, give them some difficult stuff to do and they all react the same.. hand over mouth, start dancing then start fanning their face.. it is like a rehearsed routine..

should i say a trained money?

these people are all the same, its like they study as young children how to be a korean robot.

is saying that racist? they might be proud if i told them they behave the same as other koreans.. they would probably think.... 'wow! cool! i look like my favorite tv star'

badmojo characterized the whole country as a zoo with one animal. (the korean race), not female students from your hagwon.

If this is not racist in your opinion, please give me an example of what you think is racist.

Empathizing with him shows you have some disdain for this country and although I have no right to judge you on your own views and opinions, I believe that agreeing with such a bitter statement that has no other purpose but to create hate and division is not what you really meant.

what i meant... was... these people all behave the same way...

i understand his comment about the zoo, it fits well.. going to america, australia, etc.. would expose you to a variety of different animals but coming to korea lets you only see the korean trained monkey routine Razz

...which would be different from every other homogenous populated country in the world in what way?
None?
Then, I guess most of this world would be boring. Not just Korea.

i was only talking about your dig about the zoo with 1 animal...

which is a perfect summary!

no mention in any of my last few posts about boredom.. just robot like attitudes of koreans

Yeah, I would agree with this. Most of the world is boring. You have to have variety, you have to have a little spice. There's not much of that going on here.

And I don't know where this racist comment is coming from earlier. I don't think I'm better than Koreans, I don't think I'm better than anybody. It's a pretty broad genaralization, I know, and perhaps a little bit unfair, but I haven't seen a whole lot of originality in my time here. For example, I know I can't bring any serious topics into my adult conversation classes because there's never a whole lot of disagreement between them. Westerners would fight, the Chinese would fight, but here I've noticed the opinions are nearly uniform.

And yet you make observations, that either lead to no conclusions or ones you fail to accept or entirely ignore.

I saw a guy with no legs.
Can he walk?
I don't know, all I know is he had no legs. Rolling Eyes

I always love reading this complaint. Say it with me....THIS IS KOREA

What else were you expecting to find here? And for the record I'll put in for Seoul being at least as good a party town as Montreal, having lived in both.

Where is this week's "I'm back home now it's boring as hell" thread? There's usually one around...

I know this is Korea. You're missing the point. It's not a complaint, it's an observation to back up my position that this country is boring.

In fact, I don't mind Korea at all. You just can't tell me that it's as interesting as a city like Montreal.

Previous post reply was to wylde, just to clear that up.

So be it. That's a pretty sad way to live IMHO. I find different cultures, peoples, foods, and languages to be the MOST exciting part of life. You have been able to experience things that many people would not even have the chance to dream about. Doesn't mean you have to like it. Doesn't mean you have to live here forever. Doesn't mean you have to even put up with it. Sh*t happens and everything sucks from time to time whereever you are, so I try to make the best of it.

I suggest you take a class in race & racism. It is far to tedious for me to get into this, I apologize. Stereotyping, discrimination, racism, and ethnocentricism are all discussed in detail.

I never have thought Korea boring for one second. It can be lonely, but not boring. The thought of living in suburbia back in the states... now that is boring. In Korea, well, Korean cities at least, there is always movement, people on the go, doing things, making deals, friendships.... There are new places to visit, new foods to try, beer to drink, girls to chat up.... I know all this can be replicated elsewhere, but it is so much more fun in Korea. Boring never. One needs to find out how to tap into all this and that is the hard part.

Word

If your friend is bored hes obviously a pretty nimble minded fellow. Korea never ceases to fry my box whether its just going for a long walk somewhere unexplored or trying a new meal that you can't pronounce or sucking the cultural secrets (there are many) out of your Korean friends, firing a dart at a map and jumping on a bus. I guess its dream of everyone to go and live on an alien planet for a few years...well we're living it.
And... soju is cheaper than water...assar

there is plenty to do everywhere.. and to clarify my comments.. it is only yourself that makes a place boring... even if koreans do all behave the same way, it is not up to them to entertain you.

Oh *beep*! My mistake, I thought it was *beep* not *beep*.
I guess I'll have to *beep* the wife and feed the kids the leftover *beep*.
They haven't had lunch yet.
