It's hard to.
People don't want to listen. |
I'm sure Koreans have done this in order to improve their technology since everything they make is borrowed technology.
In the 60's and 70's Japanese companies sent workers to America to learn how to "think" like Americans. They wanted to learn how to think more creatively.
When almost every major invention came from or was developed by Americans in the 19th and 20th centuries, it was very smart thinking.
Every American should read up on Thomas Edison again...unbelievable American genius. |

A lot of people say these things when they are young. The go and study and work in a foreign country and they love it. As they get older their situations change, and with those changes, they return to Korea.
Some families who immigrate have not taken into consideration many of the realities of moving to a new country. As one poster said, the rich Koreans who immigrate find that they are treated much like any other immigrant and are not treated with the same respect as the would in Korea. Many have poor English skills and live a pretty lonely life.
I hear it all the time from Koreans who tell me that they want to move to another couyntry, but I have to tell them the the realities of such a move. Living away from family, friends and contacts makes the first few years a struggle, and for people who have been pampered most of their lives will find it difficult.
What people say and what they end up doing is not often the same. And that includes me. |

| No my wife couldnt wait to move back to Seoul after three years in London however its not a permanent move and I dont expect we will ever live permanently in either city. I have to spend time back home for work but much prefer the lifestyle I have here hands down. |

Apart from the large chunks of the industrial revolution invented by the Scots.
Nonetheless, I will indulge- USA! USA! |

Nonsense. I know of many Koreans who attended universities in the US only to return to Korea after they graduate. Dude....how many hagwons prepare students to get into universities overseas? Most who get accepted will end up returning. |

| ^ Yep. That reminds me of this other Korean guy I know doing his PhD in America. He's there for the education but he still gets homesick, naturally. He hasn't actually decided where his future lies once the PhD is done. It all depends on a lot of factors such as job opportunities, romance, family, etc. |
