When is Entourage season 7 coming out? What the hell happen to Jeremy Piven to delay the shooting? Mercury poison from salmon?

The Wire!! Best show ever IMHO. I love the Sopranos too, but find it can't touch the realism of the Wire.

I enjoy many of the shows people talk of in Wire vs Sopranos threads, but havent heard anyone mention Brotherhood here yet. I put brotherhood up there with The Wire, and think I like it better than The Sopranos. It is a Showtime series that was on for 3 seasons I believe. Loosly based on the Whitey Bulger story. Two brothers, one in politics, one a gangster. Set and filmed entirely in Providence, Rhode Island. AMAZING SHOW!! Check it out.

No. I've watched seasons 1-4 of the wire multiple times. Each time I catch something I didn't notice in previous viewings. The attention to detail and the intricitate story ties are amazing and surpass any other show I've seen.

Anyway, besides that I have to give a nod to the Wire simply because a lot of it is based on actual events and is a good critique of urban America. Few shows can boast to be both engrossing and educational.

No. You are wrong.

How am I wrong? Do tell.
lol because you disagreed with him. The Wire is the best IMO

hehe, nobody is wrong. I just thought it was funny that BB would respond to my subjective opinion with a resounding "No!", and then give a subjective opinion as evidence to why my subjective opinion was wrong. It just didn't seem to warrant a mature response.

Personally, I like The Wire a lot too. I just think Sopranos will stand the test of time much more. It also rewards repeat viewing to a greater extent.imo

At least I gave a reason for my argument. Wink You have yet to do so.

For me, it depends on who had hotter chicks and more sex scenes.

I'd say Tony Soprano was kewl because he, like, was a fat monkeybutt yet he got to bag cute girls. His son also scored, which is kewl too.

hehehehehe....Scoring is kewl...hehehehehe

I've already given two reasons. I think Sopranos rewards repeat viewing more and I think Sopranos will stand the test of time. People will still talk about Sopranos in 20 years, whilst The Wire will be largely forgotten, but with a still loyal cult following.

Ok, you're not giving me reasons, you're making 2 arguments without saying WHY you believe them to be true (i.e. reasons). Why will the Sopranos stand the test of time and people will still be talking about it 20 years later? And the Wire will be largely forgotten? And how do the Sopranos reward repeat viewing more?

I am not trying to be an ass, I really am curious why you think the Sopranos rewards repeat viewing more than the Wire (I'm not so curious about the Sopranos standing the test of time since I think you are right about that one).

The Wire is better the first time around, but I think Sopranos has more re-watch value.

Well have you re-watched the Wire at all? It might surprise you how much you enjoy it watching it again. I also didn't realize how much I missed the first time around.

I do confess I'm a fanatic about the show though.

I've tried and haven't enjoyed it as much, though I think The Wire is a better show.

The Wire

So many great characters - Omar Little, Stringer Bell, Bunny Colvin, Prez Pryzbylewski, Jay Landsman, Cutty Wise, and, maybe the coolest of all, Brother Mouzone.

The real testament to how good the show was is how much I hated Ziggy Sobotka throughout season 2, but how sympathetic (maybe just pathetic) he was by the end of the season.

I vote sopranos cause its good the whole way through.

The wire gets bad in the last 2 seasons.

That said, the wire has more cliffhangers, etc.

Sopranos feels more real.

Season 4 of the wire gets bad?? Really?? Sure, season 5 pales in comparison to the rest, but season 4?? That's the best season!

And unlike the Sopranos, a lot of the Wire is based on actual events.
