Edwardcatflap you need to actually keep up with things.

This is the second time I need to tell you that what you have done in the past is not enough anymore.

You too will be required to submit an FBI check every year along with your health check. Both of these are new regulations which all E2 teachers must comply with renewing or not.

Thanks for your concern but I'm still a bit mystified. I just renewed, (late August) and there was no mention of any of this. Still, if it does come in I'd be quite happy to have a free medical check every year (my company pays for them) to see if there's anything I need to worry about. I had a CRC a few years ago, which involved filling in a form, it took about twenty minutes I think. The office did the rest

And you teach English? As an English instructor? It is a bit mystifying because everybody else on an E2 had to get a Criminal record since July this year and the Medical has been around at least that long.

Are you sure you are E2 because it doesn't sound like you are.

Every E-2 holder had to get a CBC and medical starting in 2008, not starting this year.

has anybody transfered from a E-2 to a E-1 as of lately? if you have please share.

when i got my job at the uni, i just transfered my E-2 visa from the hagwon to the uni, but I could've applied for a E-1. chose to transfer my visa instead as I already had a lot of headache with the hagwon admin and release letter. kinda regret not applying for the E-1, even if it meant having to apply for the new visa.
