+1 And i'm not kidding about this even when I was young people would ask me what I wanted to do and I would say one of 2 things: I want to be retired or I would say I want to be a millionaire because if I was a millionaire I wouldn't have to do anything!

I just wanted to be retired, not really rich or anything. I was extremely lazy too. Learned to talk at 3-4, almost failed first grade for not learning how to read and so on.

You're in the running for being my new hero! When I was a kid my parents were constantly on my case about goals and so on but I just wanted to hang out and do what I wanted to do. Glad to see there are at least 2 of us in the world!

At 5 I had serious ambitions to be a tightrope walker. That transformed into gymnastics where they told me to quit because I was too tall for the sport.

Around 6th grade I wanted to be an interior designer thanks to the show "trading spaces."

Went to school for graphic design, did it for 3 years, got fat and bored with sitting at a computer all day.

Did a year in Americorps volunteering and trying to figure out what to do with myself.

Came to Korea, still don't know what I want to be.

Wanted to be a pilot so I did that. Best solo trip was from Vancouver to Mexico. Was hard to find work so I joined the air force but they kept saying I would have to wait for a plane to free up even though me and 100 other guys passed all the tests. Got tired of waiting for 2 years so ended up heading for med school. After studying in pre-med like courses realised I was against medicine and then dreamed to become a Chiropractor.

I was about $65000 short on the money for a Chiropractic degree, but decided to try anyway. Somehow each year money showed up and I graduated as a Chiropractor.

Dreamed of pioneering Chiropractic into new countries and took English jobs at first to get visas. Ended up falling in love with teaching. Taught for 4 years until I missed Chiropractic again and now I do the chiro thing again.

Teaching helped me to learn to communicate Chiropractic better and being a pilot taught me to travel and love adventure.

I have also been a kfc cook, dishwasher, waiter, salesperson, bartender, ect

Wow, so many pilots with bad eyes. I also shared this dream. A fighter pilot to be exact.

I wanted to be an ornithologist. I used to sit in trees for hours with binoculars and a little note pad writing things the birds did. I was mimicking scientific language husbandry with horrible phrases like common crow (corvus something or other {I really used to know their Latin names!}) lands on beech branch. Proceeds to clean beak. I mean, what did I expect a crow to do?

Then someone I trusted told me that listening to music and pining for girls was more fun. I jumped on the wagon for appearances sake but my heart was never really into it.

Luckily there are quite a few birds out in Gangwon do. I see hawks, weirdly marked cousins of chickadees, and those graceful white herons that stalk the summer rice paddies.

I wanted to be a clown, so it's fitting that I ended up as an English teacher.
