No lie, I get more bites in one night in my officetel in Seoul than I did in a week in the rainforest of Borneo in July.
They don't touch my face, but by hands are usually out of the blankets so they get destroyed. My left hand right now has at least 8 bites on the top of it alone. |

After leaving me alone for about a month the mosquitoes have started attacking me. They didnt bother me until last week when I heard a buzzing in my sleep, and a few days later my arms where covered in painful bite marks. I've now declared war and solemnly swear I will put ever mosquito I see through the most painful death imaginable. I'll spray them with repellent to daze them, and then rip of the little blighters legs one by one while dripping vinegar over them.
I now sleep completely under the covers at night, its cold enough to do so and my blanket is light enough so I can breathe well enough. I hate this little abomination, Humanity should have made it extinct, but we faltered after it was discovered that DDT is harmful to the environment, and now we pay the price for that hesitation. |

Yeah I've noticed the mosquitoes seem to have gone indoors in my officetel since the autumen weather set in. They're either coming up thru the pipes or waiting for me to come home and open my door. I've sprayed myself with mosquito repellent at night to avoid bites indoors - argh!

Last night in the bathroom I sprayed a mosquito with repellent as well but my slow-killing weapon of choice was bleach. |

When I was in Japan over the summer, I stopped to chat with someone at a temple. The place they chose to approach me must have been on top of mosquito nest. After about 15-20 minutes of talking I started to leave and noticed I was getting itchy. I was headed to the big mall anyway and on arrival I checked and my ankles were covered in bites. When I got back to hotel I counted at least 19 large swelling areas over my ankles.
while I was at the shopping center I picked up this anti itching gel they sold. It was 1000Y per tube, so far more expensive than anything out of a Korea, but boy did it work well. One application, 30 minutes later I just had slight red marks left.
Korean mosquitoes are something special though. This stuff works much better than the Korean stuff, but a Korean mosquito bite still takes a lot longer to go down. If you're ever in Japan (Say for a visa run) pop into a pharmacy, make the itching motion and look for something in a dull gold coloured tube. it's a 20g tube, but the only english on it are the letters "PC" which appears in the middle of some katakana or something as a subheading, not part of the main product name (Which is in red)
I'll take a picture of it if I get a chance. |

They are STILL here!!
It's december 6th, it's been freezing for at least 6 weeks, and they are somehow surviving!
I got bitten earlier in my apartment after I left the window open (I thought it was safe now), and I have since killed three. How are they surviving this cold? |

| I spotted a few in the subway station. Guess the hardy gits are breeding in pools of water in the tunnels. |

| So would you all say that bringing a mosquito net thing for ones bed would be helpful? |

you can get them here no problem.
The biggest deterrent for them is living above the 4th floor. Personally, after moving past the 4th floor a few years ago and seeing the difference it makes (literally I have ZERO now on the 7th floor), I would NEVER take an apartment on a lower floor again. |
