So which is it Nate? Do you dislike it when someone spends their money on something you wouldn't, or are you just angry at anyone who seems to have more money than you?

I am sad when people are uninformed and base their decisions on opinions of the other lemmings.

To be totally honest, I just cant believe that mac Fan-boys are happy with their purchases. It always feels as though they need to vindicate their purchase to themselves, not to others. For example, I too have bought a fair number of products at one price only to find the same, or similar, item at a far better price later, but I dont go online and defend the more expensive product.

And again, I have not found a similar product for a cheaper price. How are you not getting this from your eyes to your brain?

A PC is not a similar product. It does not run OS X out of the box, and I have far better things to do with my time than screw around with a computer.

Show me where I can buy a Mac at a cheaper price than what Apple sells it for. Show me. I want to see. Provide a link to one I can buy, with a 3 year warranty, that will offer support for both the hardware and the software.

If you can find that for me, I will be more than happy and will be more than willing to buy it. I'll wait for you to provide the link.

Well, I guess I can accept it if you know what you are getting. However, you are wrong to assume that a new PC cant install OSX. If the hardware is new, it is very likely that you would be able to install OSX without a problem.

However, if that isnt your cup of tea and you are fine with the cost, then more power to you and apple I guess.

I just want people to know that far cheaper options are out there if they love or need OSX. I would be more than happy to build a hackintosh for anyone who wants one for a small fee. Also, any vendor at yongsan should be more than capable of building the machine for you. Installing OSX yourself is quite simple these days with Multibeast.

Nate: My problem is that I don't want to mess with going into the BIOS or flashing, or whatever. I don't even want to waste the time going out and buying components and putting them together. I know there are people out there who really get excited about tweaking things on their computer. I'm not one of those people.

I have a computer because I need it for work and to earn a living. I find Mac much easier to use than Windows. Because I depend on my computer for work, I need it to work and to work correctly. I can't risk having it go down because something is wrong with a setting in the BIOS, or an update caused a problem with the hack.

And when there is a problem, I want to call the 800 number to get things fixed quickly, or I want to take it to the Apple Service Center and let them fix whatever is wrong. I don't what to have to go out and buy a new part and then have to figure out if it will actually work with the hacked computer.

And most of all, I want to use OS X and not Windows. I have used both and I much prefer OS X.

Look, I could go out, hit all the junk yards, and come back home with enough parts to put together a car. And, when I finished, the end result will have cost me less than going out and buying a car. But, there is no guarantee it will keep working the way it should, it will have no warranty, and it will be a pain in the ass to even make it. This is what I want to avoid. Sometimes we just pay more to make things in life a little easier.

I take back what I said about you when I said you can't stand that someone else might want to pay for something you don't. OK? But, can you please understand that not everyone out there wants to build things or put things together. Some of us actually like OSX and we don't want to introduce possible troubles to the equation through hacking a PC.

And, I'm sure there are people out there that would be willing to pay you to build a hackintosh for them, and if they can save money that way, great. I need something I know will not go down when a new OS comes out. I have a couple of friends with Hackintosh computers and they had to wait several months before moving from Leopard to Snow Leopard because of incompatibilities, and I assume the same will be true when Lion comes out. I don't need those kinds of headaches. I just want to pay $29 for Lion when it comes out, download it from the App Store, and install it.
