Since becoming a parent I find myself jabbering to my little girl while around the house.

"What's this? It's a refrigerator! Do you know what we put in refrigerators? Food! And sometimes Mommy's moisturizer. But you wouldn't want to eat that. I'm temped to put it on a sandwich sometime. Sort of try it out and see if it flies. But of course I never have the guts. Oh! Lookee here! It's a chair! A red chair! Daddy sits there sometimes, when he's reading or trying to solve the newspaper jumble. Do you know what a word containing the four letters E,C,T and U might be? I bet you do, you little angel-pie. My darling huggy-bug..."

I could go on, but for your sake I won't.

This began the day she came home from the hospital.

I'm demonically possessed of course, but it is a neat little mental exercise to help re-acquaint me with own childhood.
