|

Hi I'm the girl who lost 10 million KRW. We paid for 4 tickets for my family to come to visit us in Canada. When they didn't come we bought a ticket for my husband to go to Korea. During his stay his brother-in-law met with the travel agent at a lawyers office. The lawyer drafted a letter saying that the travel agent was responsible for paying the sum of the tickets (over 8 mill KRW) by the end of August. The travel agent signed this document. Then he verbally agreed to pay the expenses incurred in Canada (pre-booked hotel, car rental) to the sum of $1000 Canadian.
We have not seen ANY money. My bil still has this signed contract that
Since my brother in law also has some of this money lost in this deal he has been the one dealing with the travel agent. BUT the problem is he's an older Korean man (my bil) and doesn't communicate to us what is going on. My husband's sister keeps said 'don't worry, we'll handle it'. My husband is happy b/c that releases him of any responsibility to try and get our money back.
This part is the really frustrating part for me. I don't know what to do..... |

I was informed that Zenith were affiliated to Red Cap Tour, the 3rd largest travel agency in Korea, so I am assured of refunds and know the company won't go bust ??
And that Wystan Kang, the guy that runs the company, used to a major player in Lotte Travel, the 2nd largest travel agency in Korea, so he has a lot of pull ??
Make of this what you will although a complaint to Red Cap Tour may be an avenue you wish to look into. |

Getting the money back is a long process. Even if your BIL took it to Court, a bunch of things could happen.
FOR EXAMPLE:
BIL must supply proper documents to Court to get his money.
Court then sends a notice to the Agent, and the agent could get up to a month or 2 to respond to the notice.
Agent could ask the court for further proof, or ask for more time.
Agent responds to the notice confirming or disputing the claim that he owes money.
more time foes by.
After a while, and the court FINALLY decides in favor of your BIL, and the agent has to pay money, then this could happen:
Agent transfers all assets to his wife, brother, sister, whoever.
The original claim was meant to get the money from the agent. If the agent has no assets, then the BIL must file ANOTHER CLAIM against whoever the agent send his assets too.
More time goes by.
There you go. That is the legal system in a nutshell. Not just in Korea, its the same everywhere. |

I can fifth or sixth these problems with zenith. My fiancee and i got tickets through them for paris and even before them to manilla and both times it went smoothly. Now however we paid for tickets in late march for our honeymoon in october and have been apparently scammed by these same people. We were sent an itinerary for our fligh after we paid but have nothing since despite calling and emails.
After this time we called the airline only to find out we were not on the flight and he had simply given us a reservation, taken our money, and not booked the flight. Needless to say we are devastated and want/need to see this man pay for what he has done countless times, i assume, before.
If anyone has a solution to this problem i would appreciate the help. We have gotten to the labour board ( not sure if this is the correct.place to deal.with these matters). Also if anyone would like to strenthen our complaints and possibly get our reimbursements together i would certainly welcome the support.
Sorry for such long text lol |

Wow, I'm really sorry to hear about this. I've bought tickets from Wystan Kang twice before, and both times I had to call him repeatedly to get him to email me the e-tickets (and both times he made it sound like I was demanding something extra from him). I hope all of you get the money you rightfully deserve.

Girl who got scammed out of 10 mil could have hired some thugs for a fee to get the money back for her. Yes they have that service in Korea and it is only to start to grow in popularity. It might not be to late for her either. I'd suggest violence to anyone here in Korea as Koreans are incredibly soft and crumble when confronted. Thats why they are so cowardly and passive aggressive. |
Yeah right. Where would a normal person even go to find this service? |

You wouldn't need violence you would just need to confront him.You should contact the company about some bogus flight tickets using a different email and instead of sending the money via my bank ask to meet him at the office instead.
The dude is a 58 year old coward. Take his phone, his watch, his laptop or his car keys? I think all bets are off at this point. |

I started using these Zenith about 8 years ago and then stopped 4 years ago when they messed up a ticket. A genuine (I think) mistake that didn't cost me anything but pi$$ed me off enought to make me switch agents.
Prior to that, he got me several great deals and was reasonably easy to deal with.
He wasn't always a crook, I liked the guy.
I hope everyone involved gets their money back. My guess is his company has spiralled into debt and he's got nothing to pay with.
Sad for everyone... |

Thats almost exactly my story too. I even referred lots of people to him. I really hope he finds a way to make good with those he's put out of pocket.
For his own sake too. |
