KT's email:

I received an email this afternoon from the KT who acts as the liason for the NETs regarding working contract.etc.. In the email, she informed me that she has the official documents from IMOE for contract renewal- the Application for Renewal, the Self Health Check, The Report on Teaching Experience. In the email, she asks me "If you want to make a renewal with XXX, pls. let me know a.s.a.p."

A tactful response:

"I'm pretty sure I am going to renew, but I'd like to see the documents first. Can I take a look at them before I give a final OK?"

Instead, the OP:

Quote:
I told her that I was not comfortable sending my notice of intention to her by email. I informed her "I wish to follow the proper procedure - having done many many times before. In order to follow the proper procedure, I require the application for renewal: on it, it asks whether you wish to check the appropriate box for yes[renew] or no."

As the OP mentioned, she is the liaison between the office of education and him. She asked him a simply question: "Do you want to renew?" and he fires back with "I'm not comfortable telling you in an email".

Yes, the KT could have done a better job of asking in the email. Like attaching the appropriate renewal documents with the email. However, I think its ridiculous for the OP to "butt heads" with the KT over something so trivial.

This situation could've easily gone the simple way of responding back "Sure, I think I'm gonna renew." or "No, I'm not going to renew."

That would've been it. End of story. No tantrum by KT. OP gets his renewal papers for him to sign or he chooses not to renew. Why it turned into a pissing match between him and his KT is beyond me.

My sentiments exactly.

Bang on. That pretty much covers it.
