I was just told by Holt that it's not possible for two Americans to do a domestic adoption.
My wife and I have been researching for a months and this is what we keep getting. When they find out you're non-military then it's over.
When I asked about your situation they perked up and said, "Oh, it's because one if them has Korean citizenship. But you can't."
Also, Korea is trying to phase out international adoptions and eliminate them by 2016. |

So, how do you like getting up every 2 hours to spend an hour trying to feed the baby and make him burp? That's something your friends who are parents never warn you about, eh?
Our son is a light sleeper. Thanks to him, we only had 3-4 hours of sleep per night for close to three years. |

It's different for everyone, but I really started ENJOYING parenting at around the two year mark. Babies are fine for me, and you do grow quite attached to the little poo machines.... But boy, once they are walking and talking, it just opens up a whole new world.
You've got a lot of fun ahead of you. |

| I think I am very lucky. He goes to sleep around 10 and wakes up around 6. Sometimes he will wake up about 3 if he needs his diaper changed. However, I one of those people who sleep like the dead and I never hear him. NEVER! Thankfully my husband is a much lighter sleeper than I or the neighbors would be beating down my door. |

Congrats!! Captain Corea beat me but you are a hero.
Good luck and enjoy the little one.
China no longer allows singles to adopt. |

| @Dazed andConfused. I would love to hear more from you, if you're willing. My wife (Korean), and I (American), are planning on adopting sometime in the near future. Thanks! |

D&C I am so happy that it worked out for you. I have always wanted to adopt and now it is the time for making the decision. I am all for it but my hubby is being normal Korean guy and finds the idea a little hard. I have a few questions for you:
Was it difficult for the Korean side to agree? (I am very aware of the stigma)
Was it hard to be taken seriously? (I am the.foreigner and soon to be citizen but culture is culture)
What was the hardest part of the process for you?
Any more info you are willing to provide will be great. I am getting a head start on the info. It is practically impossible to get Korean domestic adoption info in English!
Feel free to pm ^^ |

| Would it make you guys jealous if I told you that our baby falls asleep at 9:00, and wakes up around 9:00 in the morning? And to top it off, if we just want to continue to sleep, she will just sit in the bed quietly and sing songs, count to ten over and over, or rub ou backs softly. It's awesome! |

One day we might see a Korean family adopt a foreign kid!
THAT would be news. |
