I got the 3G model this week when I lost my older Galaxy phone. It was over 2 years old (I got the first model that came out a mere 3 months before the S1) so I was due an upgrade sooner or later. I got it in pebble blue. I went for 3G because 4G data was way more than I wanted to spend, considering the fact that 3G is pretty fast to begin with. I'm happy with it so far. I'm using it right now as a wifi hotspot for my laptop because my wifi router broke this week, and was just on video skype with my mom over the laptop and the video quality was pretty good, though not as good as my normal wifi. |

For those of you who do mods, the Prestige Blue mod is now out, but it's only for SK version of the Galaxy S3 (3G or LTE). They specifically say do not use with the KT version.

If you know how to mod your ROM with Odin, then it's easy as pie. |
I'm too lazy to google this and trawl through tech forums, so can you say what is the benefit of doing this? |
You will be rooted, can under/overclock cpu, fixed a few problems, enhanced the sound, lotta stuff can be tweaked with ExTweak program. I am just using the kernel from prestige with a modified stock rom because I didn't not care for their modifications but wanted the tweaked kernel. |

Anyone running into the "This item cannot be installed in your device's country" issue? I want to use Netflix, Pandora, etc like I did on the iPhone through a VPN.
Seems its locked to the device itself, and not a lcoation issue. Any solutions for this? Or would I have to root to bypass this? |

Two ways...
1) find the apk and download from somewhere else and sideload it
2) root your phone and install MarketEnabler. This will let you trick play store into thinking you are in a different region. |

phatrick, I see you've rooted the KT 3G model. I have the KT LTE model, just wondering if anyone has successfully rooted the KT LTE yet (SHV-E210K) |

Yes it can be rooted, if you go to the xda forums for korean galaxy s3 models (think i posted link to it) you can find all the info on how to do it. There are pre-rooted roms you can download or do it manually.

I'm pretty sure that I could trade in my Galaxy S2 LTE HD phone that I got in November last year for an S3 for around 150,000 to 200,000 won. I'm just thinking that it's probably not worth it since I'd have to scrap the accessories I bought for my S2. I also hear that the S3's battery dies fast since it has a faster CPU. I hear that the S3 is good to get if you have no smartphone but if you have a fairly recent model like I do, it's a personal choice. |

Thanks, I just wasn't sure if following a different carrier and 3G would mess something up, but it rooted just fine |

i just picked up the s3 lte on kt yesterday upgrading from an s2. i didn't think it'd be much of an upgrade but it's monumental. everything is smoother and the main thing is that the keyboard is infinitely better than the one found on the s2. even swype (although no longer called swype) is way better. my typing errors have went way down.
i also like that it also has a front facing led indicator which is something simple but way overlooked these days. my old blackberries of yore even had that function.
the camera takes ultra fast pictures and there are tons of tiny little improvements like a hand slide from side to side to take a screenshot. (i take lot of screenshots so it's super nice for me) |

To root the 3g/LTE (SK/KT) follow the same method from what I understand. Flash CWM recovery with Odin then install SuperUser via CWM. |
