I agree, he is on the way to stardom over there. Ginger Scousers have been out of vogue since Cilla Black so he has no chance back in the UK.  |

maximm: so far, OP has only been looked at by recruiters, if the recruiters have had their status upgraded to 'adults', I must've missed the memo. 
As I said, don't take offence. I know making a comment about appearance (especially a woman's and a Boston woman at that) is walking into a mine-field.  |

In regards to my looks being 'scary'. I completely disagree. Yes, I am aware different cultures have different concepts of beauty. Maybe Fox is drawing a parellel to Korean and Japanese ghosts portrayed in movies (i.e. female ghosts with long hair covering their faces). I have a lot of hair on my head and sometimes I have no control over it. Another point of view to add; again I stated I have Korean American and native Korean friends. They find many of my physical features to be appealing ( my big eyes, being tall and skinny, etc..)
As of right now, I will be waiting to see what happens with Korvia, but I have decided to look into other recruiting places as well for jobs. |
One thing about Korvia is that it competes with other recruiters - so it's not always entirely honest. While that's understandable, it's still a big negative - though it may well be that every other recruiting agency is the same.
If it had your best interests at heart, it would have mentioned that there are other public school sectors which are currently hiring teachers outside of the EPIK/GEPIK umbrella. Korvia is well aware of that, but it's not connected to that market segment - hence it is asking you to start considering applying for EPIK's March intake rather than point out these other possibilities/recruiters.
In regards to using multiple recruiters - someone here mentioned that GEPIK does allow using several recruiters at the same time, I wish that s/he could provide a link to this information for confirmation (I've googled the provided quote and that led to no positive results), since I'm not sure if that's true. I know that EPIK and MOEs in several provinces have a strict policy which precludes using more than one recruiter - and they point out that applying with more than one recruiter will likely cause your application to be discarded.
Having said that, it is possible that s/he is correct - again, if s/he could provide a link, that would be great. Schools under GEPIK do have a great deal more autonomy than schools operating under other government English programs. |

| There should be a time where you give up Korvia and try other recruiters. For instance there are private recruiters for Cheongchungnam-do (otherwise known as Chungnam) which is a decent place to work and has easy access to Seoul. |

As long as they can teach and are qualified. Why can't that be the standard instead of their weight, age and wherever or not they look like Robert Redford or Audrey Hepburn? |
