When MPs ask to see my ID, I flash my Reserve ID. Then the MP stands at attention and renders proper salute with, "thank you, sir." |

How popular are these "Korean only" bars ? how do you know which ones you can and cannot get access to? Are we talking like a big ass KOREANS ONLY sign on the front like civil rights action? or are we talking just walking up to the door only to get dismissed because your white. |
Very few places ask to see your ARC. Usually it's under the guise of enforcing an age-limit. If you look 15, that number may be a bit higher. In 6 years in Korea, I've been carded exactly once, and they were carded all the Koreans in the group I was with too.
As for "Korean Only" bars. There are a few with signs to that effect. (There was a long post about one of them on this site a few months back).
Personally I've never been denied admission, however, it does happen, and in Korea, ROAR means that it isn't illegal. |

I don't have an ARC and have entered many bars.
A couple times at night clubs I was asked for proof of ID, which meant showing my drivers licence or passport. I don't usually bring those things with me, so once I just told them to let me on anyway, and one club wouldn't budge so I went somewhere else. I go out every weekend to multiple places a night, usually no ID required. |

Pretty sure a lot of 'NIGHTEU' are informally for Koreans only, at least for the males.
Dunno why anyone would wanna go to those things though. If you were raised in a Western country you are probably comfortable enough just going up to someone and talking rather than paying a waiter to drag a woman over. |
