You might be too busy posting on Dave's to have time to see it. Online apologism is a full time job.

You never did answer my question about what you define as an "apologist," and what posts I made that were "faking" being a non-apologist.

Given that it is possible to fake being a non-apologist and have that fakery recognized by others, there must be a set of definitive opinions one must hold in order to be considered a non-apologist. What are they, and how close do they align to your own?

You missed it. They claimed to be moderates. (Just like you.) That is the joke. (You are the joke.)

trans, it's not even worth trying to get your point across. world traveler is obviously a petulant child who loves temper tantrums and needs constant reassurance from others that he's a smart boy before he will take his nap.

on a related note (and quite ironically), based on the definition of an "apologist" given by google, world traveler is actually an apologist himself and he doesn't even know he's using the word incorrectly. lol Laughing

My apologies for using the temperature reading standard for the most powerful and influential economy the world has ever known. I guess I must be a culturally insensitive brute.

Actually, yes, let's keep this funny and light. But you should also know it is only the unwashed masses in the US that use Imperial measurement. NASA, all branches of the military, the Civil Aviation Authority, all scientific papers and journals, all products designed for export etc., etc., etc., use the metric system.

That's because the rest of the world doesn't want to change to the Imperial system. So, the USA has to be inconvenienced and report both systems so that other countries can understand. The USA doesn't give in to peer pressure. Cool

Why does America win? Two words: Bluegrass Music.

And Motown.

Can't compete.

Thank you! That was bugging me -- so far as I know, no country uses SI units as the standard, common unit, making WT's cut-from-another-thread comment even more inane....

I hope you people are joking. The SI system IS the metric system.

Please tell me you were joking. I'm starting to lose confidence in people's general intelligence again.

I am a moderate -- I look for ignorance in posts, and do what I can to move those folks more toward the middle. I sometimes answer posted questions and give advice (moderating ignorance), I sometimes post my own questions (moderating my own ignorance), and I most often post refuting or rebutting blanket statements, stereotypes, overgeneralizations, or conflations of fact (moderating ignorance).

In my posting history, I've told people how to get rid of roaches in their homes and how to send money back to the US with lower fees -- you know, advice to help in real-world situations. I even started a thread that became a sticky in the FAQ section -- what useful things have YOU done on here WT?

FDNY, aren't you splitting hairs? Yes, the Kelvin scale is in the metric system, but the derived scale of Celsius is used most frequently as the metric temperature scale, outside of specific scientific discussions....

lololol. i'm definitely not an "apologist".

Oh, I see. You are a "moderate", just like Cresent, Zyzyfer, thegadfly, TheUrbanMyth, transmogrifier, Steelrails, Captain Corea, and PatrickGHBusan?

Hahaha! Wait, now I am an apologist? I don't know if you're confused enough to really think this, or if you think there is another user named 'cresent'? Ugh, how embarrassing.. Best apply for another account here because you are now equivalent to being the village fool no matter what system of measurement you use.

LOL! and zyzyfer is in that list, too? Hahahaha!!

Cresent, I don't recall everything you posted. Just one time when I talked about reward money being offered for turning in people who teach privates without the proper visa (F visa) and you claimed that wasn't true. Then another poster showed a link (pwning you) and asked you why you so rudely made that claim. You think I'm an idiot. I'm not. Only on Dave's have people said that about me. In real life I've had people tell me I am the smartest person they know. I find your historical claims extremely ignorant, but it looks like there is nothing I can do to change your mind. About zyzyfer, of course he is an apologist. He is definitely more on the Korea defending side of the spectrum. Ever notice how he rushes to PGHB's defense? Oh yeah, but I forgot, PGHB is also a moderate. Yeah sure. And PS, why would I change my account? You think I care about what some dorky pot bellied weirdos think about me? Especially over the internet? E-reps are meaningless.

So basically what you are saying is that you are an apologist if
(a) you disagree with WT on one subject
(b) you agree with a WT-identified "apologist" on one subject, or
(c) you say more nice things about Korea than not.

You heavily imply that the objective natural state of living in Korea is negative, and therefore any positivity should be looked upon with suspicion. Right?

What was it you said elsewhere about the dreaded apologists constantly trying to claim how awesome they are?

I've only just started paying attention to your weirdly narcissistic persona, and you are by far the worst proponent of all the behavior (lots of time spent on Dave's, insulting others, trying to brag about yourself etc) you decry in others.

Ouch. For someone who doesn't care about their innernetz rep, you sure are running hard on the defensive. "I'm smart!!! Really, I am!". Yeah man, you're so smart, you conclude that because of one post I made in error some time in the past, that I am in fact- an apologist. Are you still so butt-hurt from my ridicule that you didn't notice the pages and pages of arguments I've had with SR and PGHB? Yes, I was wrong. I admit it. So what? Look at the crap you post here day in and day out.
If you find my historical claims ignorant, then as I said on the last thread, you are welcome to pwn me once again. Otherwise, just continue illustrating your genius with all this thrashing around and whining that you don't know how to change my mind.

And, yes I almost forgot... so Zyzyfer is an apologist because in your eyes he is on the defensive side of the spectrum? Take a second to rehash that one in your mind and tell me that makes sense. Are you one of those 'Obama is a tyrant' people? I'm going to go ahead and guess you never played 'connect the dots' when you were a kid. Either that, or you were very selective of the dots. Maybe you were just fixated on drawing genitalia over and over again so you liked to leave out a few, I don't know. What's clear, is that you said some far-out stuff on that other thread, and show no sign of slowing down.
