It is always a blow to my love of fellow humans, when people here respond seriously to obviously humorous posts.

Exactly. It's actually mind-boggling how clueless some people are. Have they never heard of satire? Do they really think someone would actually send out cover letters like that? I guess having a university degree doesn't necessarily make you smart. I'm sure Scorpion's 'friends' were expecting stupid responses from Korean employers along those lines, because they have no sense of satire. But Westerners would get it, which makes me think the characters above are actually Koreans. Nothing wrong with that, but satire is not their thing. And for Christ's sakes, has no-one heard of Emails from an Asshole? Enjoy (unless satire is beyond your capability).

Scorpion,

You come across as a complete asshole in that cover letter. If I received that letter, I'd have a bit of a laugh at the desperation oozing from it and the blatant lying & dishonesty, and then just chuck it.

You're a - and I hate using this stupid word - douche.

A zero sum kind of guy, best described as a zero, if also a bit predatory.

Not the kind of people we want around schools.

Try selling used cars. Maybe pyramid schemes or a position with Bernie Madoff or at Enron.

I wouldn't mind but slagging off Koreans is one thing, but he's making fun of foreigners. People like Scorpion are just out for themselves in this country and have no sense of 'community' with other waygooks; unfortunately there are far too many like him here. Were this not the case, teaching here might be a little more pleasant because people would have rallied against the BS some Koreans pull a long time ago.

How did either of you make it through college?

I can't believe people are taking this seriously. Or maybe I am being double-trolled?

IF you don't respect Korean kimchi and superiority, maybe you should leave.

My best friend in Korean. He owns several hagwons. His English is very near native. He has a BA and an MA from the USA. I sent a copy of this letter to him. He said he finds the honestly refreshing and would like to schedule your friend for an interview.

Well you did, so it's not that hard. I'm more interested in how have you made it through life? Far more interesting question, that.

A Korea friend told me that Jesus and his friends ate kimchi at the Last Supper, and that Korea churches give kimchi at communion time. It makes sense to me. It is red like Jesus’ blood, it’s eaten, and has magic healing powers, so maybe my Korea friend is truthful guy.

Maybe not as far-fetched as it first appears. Very Happy

Mention that you've always dreamed of living in a country with four seasons. What a place that would be.

People 'dislike' you because you are a lunatic who never stops putting down people earning 2.1 (etc), and going on about the money he makes, even though nobody asked him. 'Dislike' =/= 'Stalking'. Buy a dictionary and start reading it.
