Can we please try and stay on topic?

Thanks to those few who actually provided first and secondhand accounts.

It just seems hilarious and, very discouraging, that fresh "off the boat" attractive female English teachers can land Biz English gigs 5 minutes into the interview when more qualified and experienced folks have to jump through multiple hoops just to get a shot at one.

It's too bad we can't get any real media coverage on this very issue.

What's especially absurd is males are far more likely to have a business background, which would overall mean they would be better at teaching business English. (What I was writing earlier was satire.)

Seriously, let's try to get media coverage for this. (I think it'd be an interesting/ salacious topic that could boost viewership. (Pitch it from a ratings standpoint and you just might get an ear or too listening.))

^ In order for that to happen we need female Biz English teachers to step up and tell/spread their firsthand accounts of what "Biz English" is really all about. I'm sure the Mrs. CEOs would be interested to hear their stories.

Seriously, if several female teachers secretly record their harassment encounters with CEOs and students, I'm sure we can get some media coverage going..

I went out for a business dinner and it all started off with drinks and was pretty normal. Then we went to the norebang, and it was still semi normal because the female biz English teacher was there. Then the ladies came, the CEO left and there were 5 guys including me 4 norebang ladies and the biz English teacher. I don't know if the CEO miscounted but it did seem a little strange. Because we were all around the same age I was able to calm the situation down and we all sang, got drunk and nothing too crazy happened. I simply claimed the female biz English teacher as my norebang lady for the night and to the best of my ability tried to be as polite as possible..

To my point, I wasn't surprised at all. If you think reporting it is going to help, it wont. That's what happens when businessmen go out drinking. If a female puts herself in that position the press or the police won't go after a CEO.

Anyone here have any idea why most adult Business English gigs specifically ask for female teachers?

Are female teachers inherently better than male teachers when it comes to teaching adults? Or are the students after something else besides improving their Engrish?

Would be great to hear from female teachers who have previously taught Business English to CEOs and adult students in general.

Let me give you a visual explanation.

( . )( . )

Any questions?

As I understand it, female teachers are by nature more nurturing than male teachers, and business executives require to be nurtured due to their fragile states of mind.

Nurturing? That reminds me...

"Korean men are a bit more fragile than their Western cousins, and a little love goes a long way. We used to describe this quality as gentleness, but found that teachers can appear gentle without giving themselves to students, so we emphasize that the teachers must really care for the students."

These Korean men don't want to learn English but only have to or are told to. While they are forced to improve their English why not provide them a little entertainment and excitment at the same time? Please be more fragile and understanding of Korean men

I don't know, these days the press seems hungry for some juicy news. Unless the CEO is involved with a major news organization... And most CEO aren't that dumb to involve an unwilling person in certain things.

You don't have one of those Canadian/British female-sounding names that some of you guys over there get stuck with, do you? Like Ashley or Leslie or something?

Might get your foot in the door.

You have to see it from the male Korean student's point of view too.

If I were a Korean man who has to study English before a long azz day at work, I would totally want to be taught by an exotic blond haired big chested female too Laughing

I can't hate them for that.
