Well I did the runner... Kind of. The school called me but I didn't answer and I stayed at my gfs place in seoul until I had to leave. My parents had to send me the money to live off and also for the air ticket.

I am trying to wrap my head around this. WHO in their 11th month and right mind would let any newbie influence to run?

I made it to my final month as I said

This means nothing. You blew off a month's pay, your bonus and plane fair all because a newbie didn't like the school. It boggles the mind.

I am also a person who does not like midnight runners or midnight runs no matter how you are treated at the school. If you are going to leave give your notice per the contract.

Despite that Korea has gotten so much better in teachers' rights and treatment, it still gets the occasional oddball who does stuff like this. The OP had no problems but let someone else sway him into what he did. Geez.

For anyone going on about the error in my age.

Yes, I was 23.

I turned 23 at the end of August 2007, I entered korea at the beginning of sept.

Big wow... I had forgotten my age when I went to korea... It was a long, long time ago.

And yes of course I regret my decision to listen to someone else!

And it is true I had to pay a fine

It is true I left in my final month and had to get money from my parents

And if you read my other recent post, you will read another amazingly story decision of mine (getting a job in Tokyo but visiting china before, knowing I had to stay in the uk to process my visa).

A summary of that is the same guy that persuaded me to run stole my phone and left me stranded in Guangzhou, I ended up with nothing... There is more but check it out ...

Not really.

Am amazing story of failure-

Visiting china 'for a holiday' knowing I had to be in the uk in order to go to japan for a job, having my phone stolen (by the same guy behind my midnight run), being left stranded, having an ex assault me, etc etc ...

I have a plan for you. Instead of making a bunch of threads with stories and questions, consolidate them all into one. Make video confessionals that we can watch, post the link in the single thread every time you make a new one, and all comments will stay in that thread.
Whatever your goal, dramatic video confessionals are the way to go.

Midnight runs can be a problem especially if you are not close to a toilet.
