I'm not from Toronto, but I'd vote for Ford. Not because I like him, I do find him amusing. What I see is a regular guy with all his faults going up against a bunch of elitist politicians. They think they are better than him, and it's noticeable. And to think, without their think-tank connections, they'd be like most athletes that couldn't make it to the 'bigs', pumping gas at the local gas station.

One thing I admire about Ford is his ability to handle reporters. I especially liked how he denied wanting to eat some woman's *beep*.

This shows the superiority of the Canadian political system. They can say stuff that no politicians elsewhere would have the courage to say.

What are Ford's substantive accomplishments for regular people against elitist politicians?

Nothing really, and doesn't matter, and a lot of people are like me and would vote for him AGAIN (if I were a Toronto resident), because he is just seen as a regular guy that makes mistakes. Also, I think the fact it's a city election, not a national election, that also helps him a lot. I doubt a guy like him would come anywhere close to a premiership, or becoming someone prominent federally.

The higher level election, the more people take it seriously. I don't know what Chow was thinking leaving her cushy federal position to take a run at being mayor. I think Rob's brother has a good chance of winning it.

I agree. Doug Ford has a very good shot at winning. As for Chow I also agree she was foolish for leaving that cushy job in Ottawa. I respect Chow and her late husband, but she isn't Jack.
