It all depends in the approach...as, I'm sure, you would know. |
I think it would have to be a very small approach. |

I've often thought that. But, I must say, you are breaking new ground in optimistic thinking. |
Though appreciated, I do not believe I am breaking new ground.
Though..I am standing my ground, against those who only wish to tear others down. |

But..again, I offer my humble apologies to those who think I am placing myself on a soap box, bloviating to no end, only to serve myself.
Truly, that is not my intention
I just enjoy my job and enjoy it even more, when I see progress in a student who at one time, was downtrodden.
But for those who have lost that feeling of enjoyment, I encourage you to seek it out, once again. |

It wasn't my joke. But I feel like an explanation is needed here. Would you like to do the honors? |

My day was very rewarding, I felt like I really got through to a student who has been a trouble maker for the past 2 years. After class as over I felt like I had really gotten through to him, as he was leaving he gave me the finger.
Today was a good day. |

Tough one...well, at least the student is learning to keep up with foreign relations...
"I was..you know...giving him the bird".
"You know, the finger?".
"Yes, I know the finger, Goose".

One thing I will say, in which I have an unusual advantage, is that I work at a school, that if a student did that to me, not only would he/she have a nice "conversation" with the director, a "push up party" on my part would be fully endorsed.
Sorry that happened to you... |

Forgive me, I had no idea that push ups held the same standard as being a pervert.
But...I do the push ups with them...so, in a way, it is fun (but they learn). |
