I didn't put my ARC or any other number in, and I got my package without a problem.

The following is what I got from I Parcel from Amazon. Guess this PIN number is taking effect everywhere. Got this in my email. I entered my Alien ID number where it asks for a PIN. I hope this is enough and my package won't sit in permanent storage somewhere now. I really F@king hate this place sometimes. If there's a simple way to life versus a life that's a pain in the @$$, Korea always chooses the later!

"Dear Anonymous,

Thank you for purchasing "Schwinn Tri-Layer Gel Comfort Grip (Black)" from Amazon.com. i-Parcel is Amazon.com's parcel delivery partner and we are eager to get you your delivery as soon as possible.

Due to a Korean regulation that took effect in October 2014, i-parcel is required to obtain your PIN (Personal Identification Number) for customs clearance so that we can clear your parcel appropriately. No additional fees are assessed with fulfilling this requirement and it is used for customs clearance purposes only. To input your PIN, thereby allowing us to export your shipment from the United States and affecting prompt customs clearance, please click here.

If you do not yet have a PIN you can register for one here, and then enter it using the link above.

Please be advised your shipment will not be able to export from the US until we have received the information.

Thank you for your understanding.

Just got an iHerb shipment with no problems, although a day or two slower than before the new customs "policy."

Two orders to iHerb in the same day.

1 all nuts and quinoa - received in 4 days, customs one-shot!

1 all processed, one package of nuts -hasn't moved in customs in 21 days, I'm told it's for 'plant quarantine reasons', that the waiting period is normal, and that all packages with unprocessed foodstuffs will undergo the same.

Except, you know, that's BS, because the other package, entirely offensive under those criteria, went through with no issue. Apparently my held items have 'passed the test' and will be released soon. Hoping it hasn't been opened / gone bad...

Update, got the package from Amazon anyhow. I put in my alien ID number in place of the code.

Also, I had to order something from I Herb on Monday, put in my Alien ID, and got it today. Pretty fast.

But, all seem to point to some changes happening in October? I tried to order some things before then just in case.

Customs changes came into effect back in May according to what I was told when I called global customs. They're quarantining orders that contain raw grains such as quinoa, millet, and seeds like chia/flax etc. Every time I've ordered those items my package has been stuck at customs for up to a week or so. Might be an idea to order those items separately from other items so that you don't get everything held up at the same time. Extremely annoying to say the least.

The message I got said that all unprocessed plant foods will be subject for plant quarantine, I should expect them to be held for extended periods, and that I "should consider that before placing orders to overseas companies in the future".

Bit 'on the nose', that last part.

But like I said, my package that was entirely nuts and quinoa passed through immediately, while the package that was 90% processed and had just one pack of nuts has been held now for....24 days.

Okay, then you must've been redirected to https://p.customs.go.kr/ from '개인통관고유부호신청조회' in red.
The input required on the dark gray bar isn't ID and password, but your name and ARC number as they appear on your ID card.
Assuming you're using Internet Explorer AND have banking digital certificate available, authentication pop-up will open once the system doesn't find your name on their database. You then follow through the rest of instructions.

And yes, you CAN use your passport number instead, but see that you follow 'letter F+Country code+passport number' format for input in place of personal clearance code. There was another thread recently about this on this board.
'Country code' is US for United States, CA for Canada, GB for Great Britain, AU for Australia and so forth.

Wouldn't mind the new, hold items for two weeks if it wasn't random.
E.g. a box of nuts and grains straight through today, held the next time. A box of items, like protein bars, held for no reason as they should be sent straight through just like the last ten times. I presume it is due to someone not understanding how to read a manifest, and confusing company names with the product name and contents of the product.

In any case I've found GS never answers the phone, but CJ does. So, from now on, any order being sent via GS I'll cancel and reorder till it shows CJ as the carrier (since that seems to be randomly assigned from iHerb).

So I go to the bank to get the certificate. Come home and add all the extra programs and get the certificate registered and stored on my computer, etc.

Then go to the customs website which recognizes the certificate and asks for similar information plus my address. Doggone website will not take my address. You get a pop-up which you fill out but it doesn't recognize my officetel. The website won't let me fill in the address manually.

BTW, I'm doing all this in hangul.

So all that and, at least for now, nothing.

Is I herb blocking you from sending things to Korea now? I last ordered in early Feb and still got it through. So, not sure about now.
