I did, just a few minutes ago, actually. I didn't see a thing that pertained to my current qualifications.

I'm getting my information from this site:

http://seoulistic.com/living-in-korea/where-to-find-the-highest-paying-teaching-jobs-in-korea/

I got it now. This is the tool that runs that website right? Keith is it? Pretty smart plugging your own site like that considering youre trying to get it to become a full time "business."

Still a douche though!

I've known a few people with grad degrees from Columbia's Teacher's College. They didn't get much traction for the high tuition.

Degrees from colleges of education are universally perceived to be, well, easy, no matter the source, Ivy or no ivy. Not trying to poo poo you're accomplishments, but stating a fact. Until you build up some experience, you're just another brick in the wall.

The fact that your degree has a Harvard stamp on it, though, MIGHT get you in the door as a lecturer at a university here. Check out SNU. It's the 'Harvard of Korea' and others on Dave's have insinuated that that school hires directly from abroad sometimes. Why? Because the conditions and pay aren't that competitive. Good place to start for you, though, if they'll pick you up with no experience, no Korean experience, and even being in the US.

Odds are you're not going to roll into 4 million a month.

And as you've already surmised from previous posts, 25K here won't even pay your rent for a year in Seoul, let alone a small percentage of a purchase.

I was going to reply but after reading the post 3 times I still have Writer's Block. I don't recall having Writer's Block since I was in Middle School.

Every time I read the post I'm stuck somewhere between mesmorized and hypnotized.

Because you're an idiot.

This forum in particular, but also the internet in general, is filled with idiots who can't understand that people exist who are NOT like themselves. Being one of these people (unique situation, not identical to everyone else) is now called "trolling" because it makes the idiots uncomfortable. LOL, face palm at the sheer stupidity.

Anyhow there are absolutely ivy league teachers in Korea, we have met them, so yes they exist. There are also ivy league caucasians working over at Samsung, this I know for certain. My old boss brought his Ferrari here, so yes that happens too.

Some people might think an IVY league TEFLer couldn't exist in the real world but I think the majority of people are just saying an IVY league TEFLer who comes across as so crass and immature without meaning to, couldn't exist. That's where the accusation of troll comes from. And I think that's probably why you get called a troll so often.

25 grand is a DEPOSIT on a studio/one bedroom apt in Seoul.
Buy? Not even close.a

Female and under 30 are the top quals here. Bottom line.
4m right off the bat? Very difficult. Even with years of experience and connections, its not easy. Often involves long hours and commutes to make that much. Or a roster of private students on an F visa.

Ditch the car. Burden in Seoul.

There are quite a few teachers who after leaving Korea go to Ivy League, or other elite, graduate programs. Teaching in Korea isn't as worthless as people think, nor are the Ivy League schools as special as people think. Also, not all Harvard schools are the same. The Ed school is good, but it is no hbs, Hls, hks, etc.

This post is better. At least now, I think, you have listened well. You're not all the way there yet, but you show promise.

No, an immature 25yo could exist.

Youre absolutley right on that point - i couldnt agree more.

But heres why I still think he's a sock of you and therefore have not been polite to him/you.

1/ Ive read enough of these types of 'first timer' threads to know the general response of someone when they get put upon unecessarily or harshly. It would also be the same response a person would have outside if we met them. They would be affronted and most probably ask why people are being so rude - this person didnt but innocently asked 'whos kimchininja' etc.

That rang alarm bells.

2/ Since you began interjecting on his behalf - he's disappeared off the thread/forum.

3/ Youre a classic attention disorder/seeker type. You were being blackballed off the site recently so your reaction was this;
invent a character - allow him to get attacked - jump in to defend him - make yourself look like you have the high moral ground - get some respect back from posters - keep your avatar.

4/ If number 3 is wrong - youre desperatley sad and lonley.

I really thinik you need to seek professional help. The only thing Im grateful for in this situation is that we are all anonymous. I personally believe that you are probably capable of psychotic acts that would harm people.

You are a ticking time bomb...

All you just proved is that you have poor intuition, since your alarm bells mis-rang.

Crazy conspiracy theories, you need help...
