If we look at the attitudes of quite a few of the men posting on this board (not you Eamo!) then I'd say the Korean men I know have got you guys beat hands down |
A-MEN!

hey man, there are so many instances of korean and other asian females marrying white american or european men and moving to their countries thinking that they have now been "liberated" from their repressive asian culture and men only to find out that what they've opted for is no better in substance...
these women get abused by their "liberated" white husbands too and also deal with other kinds of problems...i wish that the people especially in the media would stop propagating these phony stereotypes...men are basically jerks everywhere and women have their own underhanded ways as well...i read somewhere that the most mentally and physically abusive men in the states were the caucasians...
so my bottom line is is that korean men want to marry these se asian women or whoever else, more power to them... |
Men are basically jerks everywhere???
Why don't you ask western women in Korea what they think of Korean men. The spitting, the hawking, the misogyny, the room saloon nights, the hymen checking, you cook, you clean, and you'd better do it well!
Western men are brought up to respect women as their equals. At least I was. Korean men are definitelty not. Thats not their culture.
Your statement is entirely wrong. |
Naaa, many Korean guys I know are not like that. Of course you get the odd nasty, but the new generation (at least some of the new generation, especially the ones who go overseas for any length of time) aren't. It's just the previous generation that's the problem. |

... firstly parents in their 40s and 50s thinking that supporting their children is the most valuable thing in their lives; and secondly children who think they can get anything they want.... Koreans in their 20s and 30s are relying on their parents for school fees and living costs.
A man identified as "J" and living in Taegu married when he was a student, but this broke up in less than a year. He receives W1 million per month from his parents and whenever he needs more he asks. "J" is a typical mother's boy who can do nothing without his parents. They even paid his divorce payment settlement of W10 million. Professor Lee Jang-young of Kookmin University said that young Koreans living with the help of their parents have the illusion that their parents' assets and status are theirs.

The Korean race isn't pure. Look around. There are varieties of Koreans. |

Yes, interesting point. Korea is supposedly one of the most homogeneous countries, of not the most, and yet Koreans are mutts just like anyone else. I think only the most ill-informed persons believe that Koreans don't have any foreign ancestors. In fact, some Koreans are actually quite pride of their foreign ancestry. I remember reading somewhere about a certain family in Korea that was quite proud to be able to trace its lineage back to an Indian princess that married one of the kings. They've even met Indians with whom they had common ancestors to celebrate this fact. |
