to clarify to the posters suggesting i left coz i had to much free time, you should read my post a little closer. i clarified by saying that i am from a beach in sydney and feel at home near the ocean. moreover, i love open spaces, fresh air, clean streets and commuincating freely with people around me.

unfortunately, i wasn't able to get those things in seoul. of course i knew that before i got there coz it was my second time in korea. but at the end of my contract i'd had enough and yearned for the above.

as i had done 2.5 years in korea i had explored the 'hobbies' as you put it. to be honest, there weren't a lot of things that really kept my interest levels up. and i think the reason so many people drink so much in korea is coz there ain't a hell of a lot to get excited about doing. my opinion only.

i think it depends a lot on where you come from. i come from a beach and a surfing culture and there's no way korea was ver going to live up to that. and that's not korea's fault in any way.

but my point to the OP was that money and/or job conditions aren't everything in life. the job in korea is great, particularly uni jobs, but life outside my job was very dull in korea. and so one turns to drink. but we all know that doesn't solve the problem. it's fun but it gets tiring and expensive.

so again, i didn't say i left korea coz i had too much time off. i don't know how you could have igot that but anyway....my point was that life is about being happy at work and away from work. both things have to be put into the equation.

Fair enough. Though given those hobbies I don't know how you survived in Korea in the first place... I love video games, I'll fit right in Wink

I am in the same situation in California, finishing my third year at a public high school. You are an ideal candidate for an international high school job (anywhere in the world). It's too late to sign up for this winter's recruitment fairs, but here are three of the top recruitment sites:

If you have a decent work ethic, and it sounds like you do, the international school jobs are probably the best deal out there. If you don't have a strong work ethic, the university jobs sound great!
