I think now is when one of the 90 people that have viewed this thread since my last post should also post here and say something like.... yeah, I think we should have a learning korean forum, too. Neutral

I plan to make a phpbb board. It'll be one-third chatting in English like we do here, one third where Koreans who know me and people who speak Korean chat about this and that, and the other part will be the area where people can ask questions about either Korean or English.
What's stopping me from doing it right now? I'm looking at who could best host it, and I'm not sure if www.phpbbhacks.com/hosting/ is a good deal or not. Plus I have no credit card.

Where do the Koreans for that board come from? From people I know on my Cyworld page. I have almost 600 visitors today, so it should be no problem promoting it there.

Speaking as a single mod (rather on behalf of the team) I'll certainly look into the idea of a korean language forum. At the moment we have the Q and A forum which seems a bit redundant at the moment with the job, FAQ and general forums here. The other possbility is of course a travel forum that could encompass language questions there.

I also think a Korean language forum would be great.

Hopefully it would be nice to novices.

I think it would need a really good mod, though. It wouldn't be good if it was full of swearing, etc., and the Korean media found it.

Oh. Looks like you can make free boards, so I just made one. Kind of like Dave's but with no people.

That was fun. You don't have to be a member to post anything either.

You shouldn't worry about what the Korean media thinks of it. *beep* them.

My company is www.navmonkey.net, and you can set up one of these boards through them. Rates are pretty good there.

I have to place my vote for a language forum. For anyone who lives in or near to Suwon, there is a great language exchange group that meets every Saturday at KyungHi University and there are also Sunday lessons starting at the Suwon Youth Culture Center.

Looks good. I just signed up. I'm a beginner with Korean, but I think I'll find your message board useful.

I just hope this doesn't reduce the demand for a Korean board here. Having people really does make a difference.

I'm gonna vote twice for a Korean language board here at Dave's.
