I don't believe it.

Try to get a cracked copy of Eagle for Mac, for example. Or a cracked Office. Hell, it's hard enough to find a cracked Photoshop for Mac and that's probably the most available program.

Just for the record I don't think it's possible to brag about having a laptop.

For the record, my laptop kicks ass. I have a 15 inch G4 Powerbook. It is definately comparable to most desktops.

As for what new toys I have, well, I just bought a 500gig Lacie external hardrive. The trouble is it is more than half full already with TV shows. I'm gonna have to buy another one when I visit Canada. Ooh, I can't wait. Cool

There you have it in a nutshell. Nobody would even buy a desktop these days with a 15 inch monitor and you're getting what, 1.5 Ghz max? There is a 17 inch G4 Powerbook but that's still only the same size as my little monitor.

I want to qualify myself again. My original response was a knee-jerk reaction to laptops -- they're expensive, relatively (relative to desktops) unpowerful, and hard to upgrade.

But while I don't ooh or ahh over laptops I wouldn't mind one myself as long as I had a desktop for a primary computer. So, go ahead, brag about laptops and ignore my original comment.

Thanks for your permission Beaver Wink

I myself would like a desktop as well as that is basically what my laptop has become. If I do get one it will probably be the iMac G5. Damn, those things are cool.

come out from under ms-rock beaver! office for mac and photoshop for mac are both common and do not need cracking - just a simple readily available serial no. (mac-serial sharers are a well developed community)

yu can get them in 2 seconds flat with any p2p app. they are also both readily available in yongsan - in the tunnel. Cool

the old "nothing available for mac" argument no longer applies - even in korea.

I bought some surround headphones a while back. They do work, and only cost about 80000 won. Zalman makes them, but they are marketed under mmgear.

PM me for more info.

I've got another rock. If I go anywhere I have a huge selection of hardware and gadgets and gizmos to fill up my computer. A large part is dedicated to machines like mine and, as far as I know, it's hard to impulse shop for Apple stuff one there's only one friggin' Apple store and even that's way on the other side of town.

Not to split hairs, but there are two Apple stores in Seoul and one of them is in .

If you are looking for gadgets and gizmos, most are compatible with Macs nowadays anyway. I can't think of anything else that I want to buy that I can't get for a Mac. True, software can be a problem. If you are willing to shell out some extra cash you can buy VirtualPC. It runs WindowsXP in its own window and you can use any PC program. The downside is that its a little slow.
