The reason being she appeared nude in a movie???
thats what her family says!!
I doubt it very much!! she was a pawn in a big game!
the movie business in korea is a dirty place for a young woman!
the men dominate that business.. she was probably sleeping with her manager, businessman, she was being sold out to newspaper owners etc.. and so and so.. if she refuses she will be blackmailed!
she would have been told what to do, what to think, what she can and cant do etc.. all this making her depressed, feeling used , feeling like a cash cow for others.. then with all the being korean thrown into the mix, and korean men treating her like crap!
she was unstable! and took the plunge!

wisecracks about suicide- very classy.

kiwiboy, I find cracks about suicide funny only when it's a retard who decides to go one on one with an IDF bulldozer.

I'm not "in the know" enough to be too influenced, and I haven't been following whatever scandals are running through the K-media.

That said, "Virgin Stripped Bare by her Bachelors" is an excellent movie, and a nice change of pace from the typical Korean cinematic fare.

But it's sad/thought-provoking anytime a young person does this . . .

I'm not sure if there would be a "link", he most likely downloaded them from one of those websites where you download movies and things like that. I'll ask him though...Very Happy They are in Korean (which is why I don't know what they say..Razz)

I can see why one might consider the possibility of someone else being involved....interestingly when I read tzechuk's post marilyn munroe came to mind....strange....

You're not wearing your CSI thinking cap. It's possible she rigged that up before slicing her wrists.

Correct you are.....I'm afraid I've fallen victim to the notion that Korean people plan absolutely nothing. But you are correct, my father once told me that when a person trulywants to die....they are the ones who make sure they actually die ...and there is no saving them.

English articles from the Chosun Ilbo, Korea Herald, etc., are SO SANITIZED. They cut out anything and everything that might put Korea in a bad light. So much so, that I'd argue you're not getting news from them, you're reading propaganda.

Many articles that might make Korea look bad are never printed in the English version, even if the are the top Korean story.

Dogbert (or was it SeoulTrader?), didn't you say a few weeks ago that the "X-Files" actually posted $$ figures on how much it costs to bed various stars for an evening? Maybe it was someone else who told me that. We sure as heck didn't get much information from the English-version article links someone gave us earlier, that's for sure!

Definately sanitized for non-Korean eyes!

Hey Derrek, no that was a separate list I had a few years back.

Koreans are just like we are...all this juicy stuff passes from person to person over the net (years ago just photocopies passed around the office, if anyone remembers that)...just have to be plugged in to get it.

I don't believe it either. Sounds like a face-saving comment to me. In any case, they shouldn't be making any comments to the media. They still have to protect her privacy.

I can't remember where I read it, but it has been said that, while doctors will tell you insomnia isn't life-threatening, it is, because some who suffer from it chronically will choose to end their own life.

I can believe it. I've stayed awake for 48+ hours once, and I was just about as nuts as a tin of Planter's.

Pffft. Lightweight.

When i started doing volunteer work in the rainforests of Guyana I stayed awake for almost 96 hours because of a weird side effect of the malaria medication I was taking (Larium).

I reached a breaking point when i thought my teva sandals were ham sandwiches and I saw hundreds of imaginary gekos climbing all over my mosquito net.

After they took me off the meds and loaded me up with sleeping pills I slept for almost 2 straight days.

Good times.

seems there is alot more to the story... in her letter it said she wanted to earn money. well she'd earned some decent money, especially as it was her money that bought the apartment that they were living in... the problem being that her mother is a problem gambler, and seemed to have lost most of the money she had earnt gambling... due to this people around her (possibly mother, definately managment etc.) suggested that she associate her body with some of the bigs in Korea, in an effort to earn that money she so desperately desired. Obviously this would affect most people... its also been suggested that she wasn't meant to be in the business, didn't have the personality to but alot of the ish behind her... her mother seems to have pushed her alot. regardless of the circumstances a very unfortunate result for such a beautiful person.

I, too, don't give much credence to the "Scarlet Letter nude scene destroyed my confidence" excuse, especially considering she's done nude scenes in 2000 (! ) and some semi-nude scenes for һ.

I'm more of the theory that the casting couch clashed with her Christian values (she has identified herself in the past as a Christian). The nude scenes didn't bother her so much as what she had to do to get the parts in the first place. The nude scenes were just a convenient scapegoat.

All in my opinion, of course.
