| Disrespect here? I am simply telling the truth |
Be careful. Seriously. In Korea, even the truth is not a defense against defamation. If what you say is determined to have hurt his standing in the community and his business suffers for that, EVEN IF WHAT YOU SAY IS TRUE, you will be held accountable. Not him, YOU.
When you go after this guy (and I agree that you should go after him), choose the words you use very carefully. Use the truth, but do so with respect and without (obvious) malicious intent.

| Are you suggesting that I defamed someone on this board or possibly before? The thing about defamation is that you, me, or anyone can make all the claims they want which can be difficult for me in a foreign land especially while I try to earn a living. But, they must prove it(civil court balancing scale 51% / 49%) that they were damaged financially and must show the damages. I have been to court 3 times, I'll soon be going again with my Korean friend whom they have also included in the lawsuit. The Judge has asked them 3 times or more to show the damages, they can't even show or tell who owes what. How much damages am I responsible for and how much damages is my Korean friend responsible(he translated the picket sign for me in Hangul). Yes, they have a problem! In my counter-lawsuit I documented every dollar and I'll probably have the woman pay for most(excess of 10.000,000 Won) because she is the supposed owner according to the labor ministry file and she stated that she has 100.000,000 Won. The labor ministry is fairly weak and can't make them pay. Wonjang would rather pay the fine, but the civil court is another matter. If they don't pay they go to jail and I don't think the husband will make her go to jail. I can't pay them because I don't have any money, I will have to go to jail if I have to pay or get screwed. I might make the husband pay 10,000 Won for assaulting me! |

Not at all. I realize this place is sometimes a place where we can vent our frustrations, and our tones of "voice" are sometimes a little confrontational (because of our anger, or whatever). I was just saying to be careful IRL, where the same tone of voice can be a disadvantage with officals that can actually help us if we are respectful instead.

No.
You are making a point that you are going to get one up over your wonjang for screwing you around. Thats great.
Just don't catch the same attitude that he is giving to you and lay it down on other people. |

Had one kid ddongchim me in class while I was writing on the board. Ha ha. Stop it. Turn around and continue.
Ddonchim again. Look, now you're about to make me upset; knock it off or you will not like the consequences. Turn around and continue.
Ddongchim the third. That's it! Grabbed the kid, bend him over his desk, held him down as all of his classmates lined up behind him, and everyone was allowed to ddongchim him in turn. Yeah, you just keep trying to wriggle away, you little yardape, you're not going anywhere.
He got it prolly about 8 or 9 times that class. Funny, I never had any discipline problems (from ANYONE) after that day.

Ahh... the good ol' ddongchim. Just curious, how often, would you all say, that this happens to teachers--in almost EVERY hagwon or school? Damn Korean kids and their latent, homoerotic, anal-penetration fixations!
Thank God I grew up in America, where this type of thing only happens to kids in Catholic schools.
Sorry, off-topic. |
