Today was so nice that I dragged my kids to the local park to chase each other around with sticks and play a rousing game of "What Time Is It Mr. Wolf?"

Oh man I tried to play that. Hard to do in a class room. Kids love that game.

Kids line up facing the "wolf" who's a ways away

kids ask " What time is it Mr Wolf?"

the wolf says : It's three o'clock."
so the kids take three steps towards the wolf.
( or one, five or twelve- whatever)

repeat

This goes on for a while, then the wolf answers the question with:
" It's lunch time!" and chases the kids. The first kid caught is the new wolf.

I could never figure out that pay off. Why run faster? It seems to me the most exciting role in this game is wolf and not pig.

Anyone else coughing, sneezing and rubbing their eyes already? I know the big blast isn't officially due till tomorrow, but my senses seem to be getting a head-start.

I have had allergy symptoms lately, actually thought I may be getting a cold. And I have had headaches off and on for the best two weeks...and they don't respond well to pain meds...could that be b/c of the dust?

We had a sneezing contest in my 7th grade social studies class yesterday... at least that's what it seemed like. I think I won. Confused

I've been blaming it on the flaming yellow flowering tree on the hillside about 5 meters from my apartment, but maybe the $&#% blossoms are innocent?!

Whatever it is, the Claritin that I bought in the States over Christmas is NOT cutting it. I'm sneezing and wheezing and my eyes itch so bad I almost wanna claw 'em out.

And I used to love Spring... GRRRRR

Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad

You can get Claritin in Korea, by the way. You'll need a prescription. Make sure you tell the doctor 10 just won't cut it, and ask for 60.

Me too. Here in Bucheon we had a strong wind that struck up about 11-ish. I made the mistake of thinking it was done and left my windows open when I got home all I could taste was dust. Later after class, I went to eat and wound up tasting dust-jjang-jigae, and that was inside the restaurant. Nasty stuff.

I always reserve for myself the role of Mr Wolf the first time we play this, and I usually try to make the kids understand that I skipped lunch that afternoon, so I'm VERY hungry ...

My school canceled a "field trip" to Seoul Land today because some parents wanted to keep their kids inside and away from the Dreadful Yellow Dust From the Gobi. The weather turned out to be beautiful but so windy I was thankful I didn;t have to shepard a lot of kindies around in it ...

So I assume it's not so bad for your health to spend a bunch of time outside now? I'm not in Seoul...

When I was living in the outskirts of Seoul I really didn't notice it for the two years I was there. There may have been just 1 or 2 days that I felt a sandy taste in my mouth but it wasn't that bad. I could tell however when I looked up into the sun.
