And why are so many Christians leaving the Arab world in droves? Anything to do with the resurgence of Islam and the intolerance towards other faiths that entails?

Eh because they can afford to get out of there? Xtian arabs historically have been better off and wealthier than their Muslim peers. They were able to get the f-out of dodge when war broke out (ww I, 1948, 1967, 1975).

Because they can? I'm sure a lot more muslims would like to be leaving too.

I would imagine it's probably due to the area as a whole being one of strife and violence and economic uncertainty. Certainly the intolerance of Islamic extremists towards others would be one factor (among many).

If you're a Christian getting the hell out of Lebanon/Israel/Palestinian_authority_regions/Iraq, who do you blame?
To assume that Islamic extremism would be the only, or even the number 1, factor in most cases would be to misunderstand the dynamics of the region.
