I disagree. Back home there is more of a stigma about prostitution. In England, I only saw a few massage parlours which had a reputation for after-service 'service' and very few people would risk taking a prostitute when the police are more intent than here on catching those who solicit.

It's not as prevalent as it is in Korea. Whether it's in the capital, smaller cities or in the provinces where I live, there seem to be knocking shops on every block. If you meant that you 'hardly think people cheat on there partners any more back home than here', then I'd agree.

However, there are more opportunities to cheat on your girlfirend/wife in England, for example on the bar scene where you can, with a bit of confidence after a few drinks, pick up a girl for casual sex much more easily than here -and not have to pay for it. If you go for a night out on the pull and fail, you can't just walk around the corner and get your rocks off with a pro for thirty quid, as you could do in Korea.

I've also been told several times while teaching adults that it is seen almost as a 'rite of passage' for Korean men to take a prostitute either after high school or while doing military service to pop their cherry. I've no facts to back this up but I'd be interested to know if anyone else has heard of this.

Do you even realize how bigoted this statement sounds? This is extremely close to the kind of statements racists used to make (and still do) about different races.

Ethics don't seem to apply here, except maybe with your inner family circle. Everyone else seems to be fair game to cheat.
