I know of 2 people exactly like this. My dad just met my friend here and declared him a textbook case of Narcissistic personalilty disorder. High maintainance people, that's for sure. Here's the definition:
A pervasive pattern of grandiosity (in fantasy or behavior), need for admiration, and lack of empathy, beginning by early adulthood and present in a variety of contexts, as indicated by five (or more) of the following:
has a grandiose sense of self-importance (e.g., exaggerates achievements and talents, expects to be recognized as superior without commensurate achievements)
is preoccupied with fantasies of unlimited success, power, brilliance, beauty, or ideal love
believes that he or she is "special" and unique and can only be understood by, or should associate with, other special or high-status people (or institutions)
requires excessive admiration
has a sense of entitlement, i.e., unreasonable expectations of especially favorable treatment or automatic compliance with his or her expectations
is interpersonally exploitative, i.e., takes advantage of others to achieve his or her own ends
lacks empathy: is unwilling to recognize or identify with the feelings and needs of others
is often envious of others or believes that others are envious of him or her
shows arrogant, haughty behaviors or attitudes

Sadly, I've met a lot of those people here. |

the chaz is the country club, VIP, "hey, how you doin'" pointing at things with a double gun motion with their hands type of guy (or girl)...
SO obnoxious.
And i also hate people that read self improvement books, belong to PETA, or start sentences of with "as a christian..."
i know more about them than a book could tell me from those 'wise' choices. |

Who said anything about "empowerment"? There are a lot of good books about making money and picking up chicks, you know the important things. There are probably good health and fitness books in that section, too, though I've never checked. |

People who ask me how much money I make. I've lived for 24 years and I still have no idea how much my own father makes. Nobody but my mom and the IRS knows that, and that's the way it should be. When the hell did it become OK to ask somebody's salary? Really, is there anything more gauche?
I try to duck the question and people get mad at me. I've had people ask me 3 and 4 times when it's outstandingly obvious that I'm trying to avoid answering. Persistent little f**k-offs. We're adults now people, we're making real money, so there's gonna be some real money differences between some of us. This isn't like asking "So how much do get an hour at Starbucks?" |
Your mother knows how much money your father makes?
I don't know how much money my husband makes! |

there's this woman at my work right now who is incapable of listening to other people. simply incapable. it's maddening and i can't stand being around her as a result. i'm sure she's a good person, but she is incapable of dialogue. dia means two. two people talking. |
Exactly- I had a basic realisation that people are generally only interested in themselves. 99% of people show little genuine curiosity about others. On the other hand, we all love people who will listen to us pour our hearts out.
its a shame because many people have incredibly interesting things to relate, but nobody gets to share much. |

I'm going with "E. All of the above."
... depending on the context.
BTW, some of you scare me... ... well, if it were possible for me to be scared... well, you know what I mean. Not that I think I'm all that, or anything, it's just... Huh? Yeah, just a sec... I'm kinda busy... As I was saying, I don't think I'm the cat's proverbial meow or am some badass, but, you know, I've seen a thing or two. As I was saying to my one friend the other day about my other friend - both of whom I dearly love to pieces and back - I just can't stand it when she's two-faced!! Of course, I'd never tell her that 'cuz I wouldn't want to hurt her feelings or anything. She said what? I'd never say that about you! She misunderstood me. What I *really* said was that girl was just using you anyway, so you were right to tag that chick at the bar.
As I was saying, two-faced just doesn't work for me. But you know what I really hate? Hateful people. Just wanna knock 'em out. Don't see any reason for hurting people. It just isn't right. I was reading my book of quotes from the Dalai Lama just the other night. Self-help? WTF are you talking about? It's a freakin' book about LIFE, not some stupid New Age bullshit. Why do you always have to say something stupid? What, exactly, do you think you *know* about this shit? Don't go getting all tearful on me. You know you're my Dog. Hey, hey... nah, man. Don't be bringing me down with all your lame-ass whining... Hey, I was sayng something, right?
Look, I know we haven't hung out for a while, but you gotta help me out. Hey, I'm sorry! I was busy, what can I say? You know I would've been there... Well, shit, she was hot!! C'mon, I really need you to step up for me. Yeah, look, if Serena calls you tell her I'm visiting my Grandma, OK? Cool...
What was I saying? Huh? Lying? You won't be lying. You're covering your wingman. Doing your job. Hell, that ain't even a little white lie. Anyway...
You saw her where? She fucking told *me* she was hanging at her mom's last weekend. *beep* that shit! I'm gonna give that bitch a call! Hey, man. It ain't the same. It is *not* the same. You know women take this shit serious.... |

| I hate people who write posts of greater than four paragraphs of solid text and expect me to spend my valuable time reading all the way through before finding out if the post is any good or not. Try shorter posts. |

What I assume is that you will read it or not as you wish and that you will take responsibility for having made that choice rather than telling the world you have no self-control or sense of responsibility for your own actions and are my puppet.
