Guess you shouldn't have treated him like a redneck, eh. If you don't know what to do, maybe you provoked it.
I wouldn't be on here asking people what to do. I'd have kicked his ass. 6 foot 6 or whatever. If I couldn't then I would've fucked him over somehow. If he had no reason to do this then what's he still doing working with you? I'd be calling him "redneck" every second he passed me at the hagwon: "How ya doin', redneck?"; "What's up, redneck?"; "How are your classes goin' today, redneck?"; "When are you goin' back home, redneck?"; "Haggie boss wants to see you, redneck". Actually, that last one's good. Then haggie boss will invite you into a meeting after he goes to him and then it'll all come out. |

| Based on Jay-shi's candor (even in the face of some real bonehead accusations), coupled with his level-headed posting habits throughout his past year and a half on the board, it would be nice to see the amateur social psychology wolfpack to back off and cut the guy a little slack. |

| Too much alcohol can make otherwise good people do bad things. Sounds a bit like what went down at my Christmas party this year. Shit happens. Forget about it and don't go drinking with him again. |

I'da broke a bottle over his head the minute we got to the bar and he looked the other way....
But you let the heat of the moment die... nothing you can do.
As for going to the director after the fact? That's just a bitch move. |

My father was a truck driver. One night he was pulled over in a freeway siding sleeping when a father and son heist team decided to hijack his truck. The father sent his 18 year old son into the truck to smash a bottle over my dad's head to knock him out. He climbed into the truck and snuck into the sleeper and smashed the bottle over my old man's face. The bottle basically cut a 3 inch square out of his cheek. But guess what...real life is not like the movies. My instead of being knocked out like a cowboy in a spaghetti western my dad came alive and began to fight for his life. He was about 6'1" and 220 pounds. He fought with the kid who panicked and continued to stab my dad in the face and body with the broken bottle until both of them were completely out of steam and covered in blood. My dad said by the end of it the kid was begging my dad to show him how to shift gears in the rig so they could go to the hospital. He tried to drive the truck but he couldn't so he ended up running away on foot. I guess his brave dad left him there.
So anyways good luck smashing the guy over the head with a bottle. I'm sure it'll knock him right out.
Cheers
PS: by the way I live in pohang too so any chance you could post a picture so I'll know who to avoid when I'm out and about. |

| Your dad sounds like a tough old man. The look on that kid's face when your dad jumped up and beat his ass..must have been funny. |

I didn't say nothing about knocking nobody out like a spaghetti western...
But trust me, if you do get a bottle smattered over thy skull, you'll, at the very least, regret having ever mindlessly targeted me to vent your frustrations. Maybe not before, during, or directly after it breaks... but in the morning. If you've got five inches and fifty pounds on me, well, there isn't shit I'm gonna do to you to win, but by God, I'll make you feel it in the morning. |

@jayshi
Just for the record I think it's much better to talk it out like you did and solve the problem amongst yourselves if possible. I probably wouldn't have involved the director but if you really did feel a future threat than I understand that course of action.
@bellum
My dad told me it was pretty disturbing. The kid was crying and panicking at the end. My dad never really harped on the situation though. He put the blame squarely on the father of the kid.
@n3ptne
I apologize for misrepresenting your previous post. I assumed that you did not have first hand experience with smashing bottles over people's heads. While my experience was only second hand I can tell you that bottles leave deep and nasty wounds. I really believe that when that kid climbed into the truck he thought one good crack and he would knock the driver out. But as you pointed out bottles do much more damage. I appreciate that you clarified that in your last post.
