So my new school wants me to change to Woori bank. My last school wanted me to change to KB. I now have a KB account.

I will open a 2nd account (a Woori one) and now my new school is requesting that I give them a photocopy of my account book page from KB as well. Not to make deposits -- just so they can have it.

Why do they need this??? I really don't care to give it to them.

Employers are playing financial watchdog now? What legal right does an employer have to info on personal bank accounts, other than the one they use for depositing salary? None, I would imagine. I wouldn't bother making a stink over this. I'd just give them what they want, leaving maybe 5,000 won in the KB account, and then go make another account at a different bank -- one that you'll actually use for whatever purpose.

Well, I gave the guy my bank account information, but not the KB stuff. After speaking with him, it seems he made a mistake in his request. He was happy to copy just the Woori bank book. I thought it was a weird request to be making. So no, they aren't going to be monitoring my non-Woori accounts, anyway! I'm not Woor-ied about that!

Shocked

I suppose the real reason they wanted me to have a Woori account is because they can save a little on deposits/transfers. Not for account monitoring.

So, it all comes to nothing after all. Too bad you couldn't wait a while to see what developed before abusing a poor bank teller and posting how proud you are of it here.

I'm not sure, but this sock smells like someone very familiar...

And you just smell.

These are two different threads / issues. One has nothing to do with the other, save the name of the bank.

Troll.

Classic Derrek. He gets burned and responds with kindergarden schoolyard wit.

Since when are foreigners legally required to provide Korean employers info on our personal bank accounts, specifically those unrelated to salary deposits?

They aren't. BBE is simply trolling.

How did Derrek go from a white guy chasing Korean high school girls into a black homosexual? If it really is Derrek, time to get out the oscars for roleplaying. (But then Derrek did look like the D&D sort)

If I recall, Derrek couldn't speak enough Korean to possibly wrangle through that kind of speech....maybe he did the whole thing in English, in which case the bank teller may have been very confused. I truly hope she didn't understand a word or managed to have a laugh about the whole thing.

Poor guy anyhow, whoever he is. So angry.

Get some peace man.
