That's funny. "Team Canada sucks". As if. Even if they lose to Russia in the quarter finals, they definitely don't suck.

Well, they certainly did suck against Finland. They were playing as if they were killing time, trying to protect their lead...but they were two goals behind.

They were already in the medal round. Doesn't count. The game meant nothing.

They still sucked, though.

That's lame. (but don't get me wrong, it is wrong to say they "suck")

Every game counts. They wanted to win, just could get it going.

I can't believe it has been such a long time since the best players from these two countries have hooked up in a meaningful hockey game. Excluding the round robin at the World Cups these two haven't met since the 87' Canada Cup final.

I'm back in Canada now and am anticipating this great matchup big time. Will the game be on Korean TV for you guys?

I haven't checked if it will be live, but I've seen replays of all the games.

My wife says Gretsky must have been betting on the Russians.
Laughing

If you haven't already heard the news, you could probably figure it out from the above.

Pride is tasteless, colorless, and sizeless. Yet it is the hardest thing to swallow.

That's a good joke. Canada goes down in flames in men's hoggy. How will Canadian men ever be able to make love to their wives?

On second thought it was probably better that you didn't get to see the game. Laughing

Or- as somebody else already said- maybe it really was the loonie buried in the ice that last time...

But instead of lamenting the loss of the overpaid NHL golden boys of hubris, maybe we could take a second and admire Cindy Klassen's remarkable achievements.

Canada generally has a tradition of choking on the world stage. Remember how many gold medals we won at the 1976 Montreal Olympics? Right. Zero. We're the only country on the face of the earth to host an Olympics and not win a single gold medal. Curiously, Korea won more golds in the '76 Olympics. It won its first post-WWII gold!

I viewed our gold medal win in the last Olympics as an aberration. So a bunch of guys pulling down $1 million a year playing for American hoggy teams and American ad sponsors don't come home with gold medals for, err, Canada. Boo hoo. The world of amateur athletics weeps.

Its dissapointing they didn't take home a medal of any colour, as many have said its not a shock that they didn't win the gold.

The competition is tough, having said that I believe that player selection had alot to do with it. The biggest part though has to be the coaching staff, they are given a group of players, there job is to get those guys to play a system that will be effective. The motivaing of the team was obviously not done in an effective manner as a result they were booted home early.

I think everyone Canadians included should respect the other countries that are always in the hunt.

Finland always seems to find a way to exel, so do the swedes, czechs and russians.

I am rooting for the Finns now, I hope they take the gold back to helsinki, in my opinion they have been the best TEAM in the tournament thus far.

SUOMI, SUOMI.

Also my mom is from Finland and what a great place Finland is a Beautiful country and the ladies up there are hot hot hot.

Exactly. Like in 98, I really thought the Czechs deserved to win and was glad they did. It's embarrassing but ultimately not a bad thing.

We can't. Not for another four years.

In the meantime there will be a mandatory gay orgy at the Rocky Mountain Tavern this weekend. Only Canadian males need apply.
