I actually came up with the idea well over a year ago, but if I'm the first one, I'd be very surprised.

So would I, because I first heard drunks in Itaewon talk about bringing miniature golf (a loathesome thing) and a million other bright ideas to Korea back in the 1990s. That wouldn't have been you, would it?

Oh indeed, indeed! But isn't it here already? Well, let's assume it isn't yet. Do any of you think there's one chance in 10,000,000 that a _foreigner_ is going to be the "Miniature Golf King of Korea"? Oh sure, he'll be right up there in that well-known pantheon of "Famous Foreign Entrepreneurs in Korea"!! Just like.... like..... um.... ol' whats-his-name...

Nope, that wasn't me. Back in the '90s I was working on bringing long hair for men to Korea.

OK - sure winner -for whoever's got the kahunas to do it: an "Enemies of Korea" shooting gallery/gun range featuring dolls of Bushi, Cheney, Anton Apollo Ohno, Koizumi, some Japanese baseball players and a couple Korean-girl-chasing Canuck teachers (with fake degrees) as slowly moving targets...

WORST IDEA?

comfort women-themed hostess bars with authentic costumes and full Japanese colonial regalia, music, flags, etc.

BEST IDEA?

already thought it, currently doing it (no, it won't make me famous or filthy rich, but it's making me happy)

yes, it's been a fairly eventful (and stressful) day around the old workshop, the old snakepit, the old torture chamber. I didn't aim that one at Racetraitor, but at the situation, the reality of things.

I tend not to use the [Rolling Eyes] face the right way or the way it's most commonly used. It's generally a personal insult, isn't it? You're telling the poster you're quoting "Wow, I think you're dumb and clueless. That was a dumb thing you just wrote, and here's me rolling my eyes at you."

Racetraitor has cultivated real interests in Korea outside of his regular job, right? He's promoting bands & their music, I understand. Sounds like fun stuff, and I wish him success and a good time at that. He's not the sort of poster I'd roll my eyes at. Very few are, I think.

Is anyone actually serious about the mini-golf plan? If it was a bunch of people working together to make it happen, I bet it wouldn't be so hard to pull it off. It would be a decent project.
Putt-Putt says no franchise applications till fall. Most of these now have batting cages, bumper boats, mini GranPrix, etc. And we need a Taco Bell next door. Smile

BTW: Has anyone played at/heard of Monster Mini Golf?
Looks fun.

There are driving ranges. Anyone know how much one costs?

Good Korean friend of mine mentioned to me just the other day that driving ranges tend to be very expensive here. Average is W50,000. Per hour. I'm sure there might be some that are a little cheaper, but no idea where they might be, as I don't care at all about golf.

Also, I'm just quoting my friend. Having never been to the driving range here I can't confirm.

naa mate it aint 50.000 an hour!

they charge by the bucket! and its about 7- 10.000 won for 100 balls!
