I am a dancing Hogwan monkey. If some parent is stupid enough to give me cash for better grades I would take it in a heart beat.
The chances of that happening??
Slim to none. |

I just had a meeting with a former co-worker who is the head of the R&D department at my old school. She told me that she's been instructed to write a memo to teachers reminding them that the company has a policy against accepting money or gift certificates. This is, by the way, one of the larger chain school in Korea.
I told her that it could be considered rude to refuse a gift and that some parents might be offended, therefore it puts teachers in an awkward position. |

| In 2004, on of my kindy kids gave me and the Korean teachers 50,000 won each. I was dumb enough to blab it to my Korean partner teacher and she took the money he gave to her and told me to give mine back. She put it all back in the kid's bag and sent it back home. Later, the manager said we couldn't accept money from kids. He lived with his grandmother and she was not able to get out to buy the teachers presents, so she gave money instead. |
