Darts is fantastic as well. Roast beef, Yorkshire pudding, gravy, ale, Sunday afternoon, Winter, pub + darts = excellence.

Darts requires great skill. People play the game professionally. So, your score's 88, you can beat your opponent in this particular game with your 3 darts - treble 20, and finishing on a double 9 (you must finish on a double) will win it - reckon you could do it, Otis? Course you couldn't. You couldn't tell your arse from your elbow if you had 3 guesses! Laughing

Jesus you're a sad sad individual, Bill. What happened to your own little three ring internet circus? Now, don't you have a truck to drive or a natural disaster to profiteer from?

Another barely adequate performance from England. I still maintain that England will create more chances and will pose more of a threat without David 'special teams' Beckham, despite the fact that he scored the all important goal. We need pace and inventiveness down the right. With Beckham we get speculative long balls, and a consequent loss of possession, which will be exploited by better teams.

It was an improvement on previous performances I thought, although still not amazing. Carrick impressed me considering his lack of playing time. I felt maybe Walcott should have played the last five mins to get him some time.

I thought there was nothing much doing up front for us, Rooney is still half a yard off full pace and fitness, although he did come up with some brilliant touches towards the end. Lampard's finishing was again woeful, although he gets into the right spots. Gerrard was sub-par and Joe Cole failed to impress me. The biggest worry is that with a numerically superior midfield, we once again gave away easy ball and failed to dominate possession. Something will have to change or against a team like Holland (or Portugal) we'll be punished for mistakes like that.

He's not a show pony, he's a flppin' game controller, a stategist, and a play maker. He's not flash, but he's very steady, he's needed. You are off your rocker...

You obviously know very little about football. Beckham is not a 'game controller'. You must have him confused with someone like Zidane. Apart from set plays, he gives very little, and when he is off target on those, he gives nothing. He is only in the team on reputation and this free kick will probably paper over the flaws in his game which are costing England dear. The problem is that Erikkson does not have the balls to replace him, no matter how bad he plays.

The wags out of England I listen to agree with verne. Beckham is invisible until kicks. But of course 3 game winners were off his foot.

Wags also say Terry and Lampard have been horrid. Rooney getting better-off day Gerrrard

Lampard has been terrible.. and Terry has been very shaky at best.. And when I mean shaky I mean like that backup Aussie keeper shaky.. Equador had that golden chance to score because of one of his screwups..

As for Beckham, he is that type of player who you never notice until there is a set play.. almost invisible infact... He's not much of a playmaker at all IMO... But you have to have him out there because he's one of the all-time greats at dead ball plays..

Just because I'm not from England you say this. I've been watching the English league since I was 7 years old. And I have a different opinion than you, which doesn't mean I know nothing about the game. Beckam has a suberb cross, one of the best in the game. And he does this plenty of times from open play not just set play. He also has great positional sense, always in the right place. And he steadies the team. I can't see a better replacement. And I believe it's just trendy to rag on him cause he's famous and a bit of a *beep*. That's what I think.
