Too true...what makes it even more pleasing is I helped to flush the toilet.

Satori - I want you to consider five points:

* 5 billion people (out of 6.4 billion) live in the third world.

* Half the world, 3 billion peoplem live on less than $2 a day.

* The GDP of the poorest 48 nations is less than the wealth of the worlds three richest people.

* 20% of the population in developed nations, consume 86% of the worlds goods.

* The developing world now spends $13 on debt repayment for every $1 it receives in grants.

Good to remember things like this , not only from time to time but day to day......compassion doesn't know anything of "is he communist, is she capitalist?" .

I do agree ideological straightjacketing, communism, any system which curtails individual liberties for some far off future utopia/paradise -- IS NOT the way to go.

Two other salient facts I keep reminding myself about.

* 78% of the people living today have never used the internet

* 65% of the people living today have never used a telephone.

My favourite troll is Dulouz -- he reminds us all why we must temper the seed of bigotry in us all.............thank you Dulouz

There was a Sue Ellen at your school too?

The one at mine had really big knockers.

My friend got to eat them.

We were very proud of him.

It'd be cool if there was troll who was so good that he could hijack a discussion about trolling and change it into an argument about economics, even AFTER he was identified as a troll. but that'd just be crazy.

What about a thread in which a troll that was identified as a troll and then hijacked the discussion about trolling and changed it into a discussion on economics and in which someone else mentioned that the OP could himself be considered a troll in light of the successful sub-trolling that ensued and then in which somebody else noted the irony in the thread actually turning into a troll-led argument by a troll so good that nobody noticed or cared about being trolled into a discussion of economics by said uber-troll...and finally was bumped up by some bored knob who wanted to see if even after all that the troll-conceived, troll-based, troll-supported, troll-maintained, troll-critiqued, and troll-resuscitated thread could still snare some unwitting goobers and perpetuate the trollicity...and it worked.

Would that be crazy?

But the all time true love of my life is princess. Maybe not even a troll--the jury is still out--but oh so lovely and sweet...

If she is sock, as she must be, what a piece of work!! (And if she's not, a masterpiece...)

Princess is a piece of work. Who could believe this?: Laughing

I think my favorite troll has to be Fiveeagles. He will start threads that are totally troll-like, and then, when the debate gets too hot for him to handle, he will start another thread on the exact same topic in order to avoid the questions.

That's genius. Idea

Allow me to kindly point out that your post makes absolutely no sense what so ever. This is why people promoting communism these days have no credibility. You clearly don't understand what either communism or capitalism is. All of the things in your list happen under communism too, and they are certainly not caused by capitalism. You seem to think that capitalism implies lawlessnes and the absence of protection from being ripped off. That is entirely untrue. Your simplistic charicature of life under capitalism is utterly misleading and deviod of any trace of reality. Thus I now question not only your intelligence but your very mental stability. Be honest, are you, in fact, mentally handicapped? There is no shame in it if you are, best to come out of the closet, then we can understand your perspective better. Some of my best friends have down syndrome with severe autistic complications!

I am entirely comfortable with my views and none your obnoxious suggestions makes me inclined to review them.

Capitalism has created an enormous number of crisis' in the world. From the way wealth is distributed, to the exploitation of workers, to imperialist aggression over scarce resources and the creation of many forms of inequality.

To not acknowledge that 80% of the world doen't share the same privilege and advantage that you have because of capitalism, in my view, is arrogant.

It seems a little crude to hijack a thread on trolls to debate communism further, so that is the last I'm going to say on the matter.

Capitalism has indeed "created an enormous number of crisis' in the world" ranged from inequal distribution of wealth, exploitation of workers, and blah blah blah. However, in communist countries these problems are always worse. Where or when have you seen communism in practice where it has actually been an improvement over other systems? It's not as though no one has given it a fair chance, it's just that it's been an enormous failure each and every time it's ever been paraded around as solution to people's woes. As a concept communism is great, but there are a great many things that remain as concepts because they are simply unrealistic.

I think almost every polical system in history has in large part, been a oligarchy and any other name associated with it was meant to make it more palatable..."capitalism" is the new name for it.
