I have no interest in the outcome for overstayers, nor illegal workers. They know what they are getting into when they come here. If someone speeds up the process of their dismissal, that's just their luck.

seems like a bizarrely mean thing to do...report illegals. it'd never enter my head to do that. i'm a big fan of the live and let live thing. i know the OP has had lotsa stress from his bosses, but not sure why you're reporting coworkers, or ex-coworkers, if you've left that job. how are/were they the problem? wasn't it just your hogwan owner that was being a *beep*?

so, they didn't tell you where they went to uni. is that all you're going on for the illegal thing? i sorta have a general idea where most of my past and current coworkers went to uni....mostly what they studied, i guess, may have come up in conversation now and then..but it was never a topic that came up much. we had other stuff to talk about.

why do you want to do this so badly now? please say it isn't the money...lordie, who cares if immi pays you...how strange would it feel to have money in your pocket, as people who have established lives here, get hustled out of their them and to a plane? i don't get it.

I'm NOT going to get into the debate about whether it is appropriate to report a violator of the law but I will answer the original question posted by the OP.

= On the top toolbar you will see a tab labeled "Participation".
= When you place your mouse on that tab you will see a sub-tab labeled "Report Of Immigration Offence"
= Click the tab and fill in the blanks.

This is such a difficult and diversive topic. Those of us who have been here for some time, have a degree (which we worked hard for!) and have put some effort into becoming better teachers (whether or not we have a teaching degree), most likely don't want someone with NO degree getting the same pay/benefits that we do.

That said, we probably all know someone who doesn't have a degree, but is a great teacher!! Do we rat out EVERYONE who doesn't have a degree, or just the ones we don't like? Rolling Eyes

We all know that the hagwon system needs a complete overhaul...but I don't see it happening in the near future. The only ones who are going to make the difference are the parents. Once THEY start demanding trained teachers, THEN things will change, but not until. When my uni students are parents, MAYBE things will start to change...but most of you/us are safe until then!

Whats the problem? If they are legal they will be fine. if they are illegal, good riddance.

By your logic. If you were in the states and had children. Calling and reporting that you beat your kids, without any evidence, wouldn't be underhanded? Especially if my goal was to get back at you for something.

It sounds like the OP is reporting them out of spite. Only a coward would attack someone in this way. Why put someone through the ringer without any substantial evidence? From what I have read all they did was not talk about their college days. They must be illegal.

I stood up for my myself and my rights as a legal teacher and I was fired for doing it. The poster directly above flamed me for "not having a job." Classy, very classy.

Obviously, very few of the flamers have ever actually stood up to their bosses. Oh, they may yackety yack about it here, but in real life? Not a chance if they ADMIRE illegal teachers and flame someone who is actually standing up to a crooked hogwan owner and a crooked hogwan chain. Or are they flaming me BECAUSE I'm standing up to a crooked chain? Hmmmmmmm.

BTW, Homer has it right. Illegal teachers cost us money.

Oh, and for those who even bothered to read other threads, those other teachers haven't just stood by while a legal teacher got the shaft from the crooked hogwan owner- they actively helped. Are they still your heroes?

Illegal teachers are costing the rest of us, and they deserve no sympathy or admiration.

All of which are valid points, but I'm not sure this is something you should take on. Hagwons can and do exact crappy revenge on teachers for all kinds of reasons/excuses. Think about it very carefully.

Isn't this another one of those hot topics that we have to be careful of? I'm talking about the factor no one has even mentioned yet. Suppose I wanted to rat someone out because of xxx reasons, would I get on a public message board and cry out to the entire community? Of course not. I'd pm Homer. (JUST kidding Homer, don't hate) or someone I've observed on the board, like in this case Alabamaman...and ask for advice. Ok, maybe the OP is for real, but if he is for real, he should at least realize that it's one of those subjects...can of worms...etc. All this would be so much better solved if he'd stick to PM. Not that I know how to advise you OP, so prease no pm to doggy.

Are you guys starting to see the picture?

Congrats though, if it is a troll...it's a good one.

Sorry for the flame. I just don't think taking it out on the teachers is a good thing to do. I know about 50 people that do privates illegally .. It would really suck if any of them got deported because someone was jaded.

He sounds very young and stupid. First he wants to bother talking about college days, probably because he just got out of college. Then he probably caused trouble at work and the other teachers didn't help him..(I wouldn't either), then he wants to report the school (hoping someone is illegal) for revenge.

GO HOME DUMB**
