Can anyone put up a map showing where exactly the stadium is? Thanks in advance.

According to a map on the Korean Rugby Union site it's right next to Onsu Station. Use exit two. Check out the link below to find the station.

The rain is suppose to clear up this afternoon and judging from the picture on the site, the stands appear to be covered. God I hope they don't cancel!!

I was there. The stadium is tiny, like a small town stadium in UK. It certainly was not covered nor even seated. But that is unimportant.

It was a great afternoon and I for on thoruoughly enjoyed it and will go back and watch more.

The main game was - unfortunately - a rout, with Korea winning by a whopping 99 points! The final score was 102-3.

As you might expect, with such a one-sdied game, their successes became tedious. This was cmpensated by the fact that Korea's ball handling was first class with only one dropped pass that I can recall. They totally dominated possession which was good as China were astoningshly strong in the set pieces, winning most of the scrums and almost all the lineouts but seemed without a compass having got the ball and failing to take advantage. It looked almost as if they were nervous of tackles.

It was a very clean game: only one yellow card given in the closing minutes by the Korean ref to a Korean player.

Yes, a great afternoon.

I great day indeed. I was impressed with the korean team. Their ball handling and positioning was a lot better than I expected. I would definitely like to see them play again and see them play a better team.

The roly poly hooker had some great runs and was suprisingly mobile for his body. It was a great day for rugby with the skies clearing up at half time. Sadly, I narrowly missed one of the balls they threw to the crowd at halftime it was deflected into my buddy's hands and despite my whining and crying for the rest of the evening, I could not convince him to give it to my son.

Yeah, a good day out despite the lopsided result. Korea play a flashy game with a good backline whose handling is top notch. I think they will suffer when they come up against quality though. Nevertheless, its nothing but good for the development of the game in this part of the world.

I went with Lizara. I had left my seat just as the game kicked off, and the Korean players up the "crowd" with balls to give away. One was aimed toward poor Lizara, and a hefty ajossi tried to occupy the spot she was standing in, which resulted in a scraped arm and her glasses were knocked askew and bent. To apologize for the manhandling, he gave her the ball. Since Lizara is utterly indifferent to sport, she gave it to me! Hooray!

Those poor Chinese. Watching two of them get taken off in stretchers was unfortunate. That kind of routing is fun to watch though. I liked how the crowd didn't even bother to clap for tries that the Korean team had to struggle for.

Fantastic day, the rugby gods were smiling and the rain eased off and the sun came out, really nice to sit on the grassy bank with a couple of friends watching a bit of saturday afternoon rugby. I had to do it, in the second half we were sitting right near chinas in goal area, after korea scored 2 tries in the first 5 minutes of the second half i started screaming at the chinese guys when they were waiting for the conversion "CMON CHINA!!!!!GOOOO...GOOOO CHINA!!!!!!!", they could fully hear me and were looking at me like WTF?. Anyways, after the match i ran over and got a few pics with the chinese boys, the shots cam out really good as it was the whole team and me grinning like a monkey in the middle.

I would post the shots i took, they were good as i recently spent a crap load of cash on a new camera which i lost last night. (well lost as in stolen).

Anyways, i'd like to see them play again. Can anyone translate there itinary?

Poor old Chinese, not in the same class, trying to play a brand of one-out, bash it up rugby against a team with great handling and a superior backline, speedy as all get out. One thing that disturbed me though, the constant chatter of Koreans in the crowd during the Chinese anthem and the fact that half a dozen or so of the Korean players turned their backs during the same. It made me think it may have been a protest over the ongoing Kogoryo saga. Nevertheless, a good day out in weather that turned out great. I'd like to go see more live rugby in the future.

Next big rugby event is International Touch Seoul, same venue (Onsu Station lines 1+7) on Saturday 23rd September 09:00-18:00.
20 teams from Korea, Japan, China and 50 matches...it will be fast and furious but with food and drink available all day at the ground, it will also be a big party. Bring friends, fa,ily, colleagues, students...

Korea overwhelm China

Korea kicked off their preparations for the final round of the RWC qualifiers in confidence-boosting fashion, cruising to a 100-3 win over China.

The inaugural Macquarie Friendship Cup, a one-off match between the two sides, was held at the Oryu Stadium in Seoul, Korea.

Roughly one thousand spectators were on hand to watch a rampaging Korean side let loose on China, whose focus has shifted to the 2006 Asian Games in December and were evidently under-prepared.

The Chinese showed little co-ordination in either attack or defence as the home fans saw their team in action for the first time this year.

The match was part of an initiative by the Korean Rugby Union and their partners Macquarie Group to increase the number of matches for the national team to include an annual test match against China, in addition to their annual �Friendship� match against archrivals Japan.

The day was also an opportunity for a �curtain raiser� between the Seoul Survivor Rugby Club and Korea University Select Team and mini rugby exhibition matches.

Korea's Rugby World CUp qualifying campaign heats up in Colombo, Sri Lanka on 18 to 25 November 2006 when they will play Japan and Hong Kong.
