If I ever run into you on the street I'm a throw some milk at you too.

And I'm not Korean.

A kid spat at me when i was walking past my hagwon one day. He tried to be sneaky about it but i saw him do it. In my 2 and a half years here thats the only time i lost it at a kid.

That wasn't necessarily a racist attack though. More like a study hagged kid lashing out at "the man".

Milk's not kosher, or something, right? So if it hits you, you melt?

You may be right. However, at least I know the a/an rule.

Yes indeed you do Thundarr...you can be very proud of that achievement. I sent you a gold star by mail...when you receive it you can paste it to your forehead so that everyone knows you are a clever little boy.

Well done.

I do not believe you have sent him a gold star by mail. For one, how do you know his address?

incidents like this seem like a call to arms for anyone wanting to have a cheap joke. a) hey it didn't happen to me, im not hurt, b) its the internet right, anything goes.

and you can bet that if the bottle had hit junior and that he subsequently reacted that the police would have blamed him no doubt.

as to whether it is racism. its pretty much a 'black and white' issue to me unless the assailants were purely and genuinely juvenile in mind and manner which i am reliably cant be the case because 'Koreans are kind'. its nonsensical to suppose otherwise

Since this title is an obvious comment on my previous thread on the general discussion, I feel inclined to add my two cents worth (probably not even worth that much).

Before coming to Korea, my Korean University students in North America complained about westerners throwing eggs at them at a bus stop while making racist comments in English. This pissed me off. I have never been able to tolerate racism of any kind or any form.

After coming to Korea, with the interest in experiencing being a minority group in another country, I was amazed to see how blatantly obviously racist some Koreans are to foreigners (Korean only restaurants, clubs, hate stares, etc.). My previous post was to stimulate discussion regarding this issue. Not to say my incident was spawned by obvious racist motivations, however, many, many other stories had been. Anyways, have your fun, bantering on the post . .. enjoy . .
