huh? Who said they were countries? And you just called me 'booger' in Spanish.
Itaewon guy...thanks for clarifying your statement. It is true that Koreans may not speakers with the Newfoundland accent or Alabama accent if they realized it wasn't 'standard' English (whatever that is ). I do stand by my statement that many people, even in our home countries, discriminate based on accent though. I'm sure many of us on this board have been guilty of pre-judging someone or perhaps even discriminating against someone because they had what we saw as a less favorable accent.
I know I have pre-judged someone...and was called on it...and I'm glad that the person had the guts to tell me to my face that it wasn't cool. |
