Loved when they passed by the Kazakstani (sp?) embassy in NY...
Loved the driving lessons when the instructor said that in America its good that a woman can choose who she has sex with..."Not for me!!"...
Classic (as I mentioned) "loose like sleeve of wizard", and even chuckled when he threw in the Lil John "skeet skeet" reference... |

| I have to ask- How much of that was staged, and how much was real? I mean, putting Pamela Anderson in a sack, she had to have given permission, right? How about singing the Kazykstan National anthem in front of thousands of rodeo fans? That Cohen has got the major balls. |
I think it was one of those deals like Punk'd just enough people knew about it to keep anyone from getting really hurt. This movie is a classic in bad jokes, political incorrectness and a big ol' poke at us silly Americans. I love my country and love being american. We are a mix of so many cultures that it just makes us appear a bit on right side of sane.

i like the two hotel scenes, the pentacostal church, the rodeo, and the southern dinner. |
I loved him and his manager wrestling naked then running through the packed conference, still naked, with Borat brandishing a tool for 'fisting'!! |
That was a classic.. tears were definitely rolling |
Just watched that scene now.. it compelled me to track down this thread. I was skeptical about watching this movie, but holy god is it hilarious. Where his manager guy has his ass and balls all up in his face.. man, I'm crying now again.. I was wondering what the hell he was doing, then he starts saying EAT MY ASSHOLE and Borat is trying to tap out. Oh man that is just way too damn funny.
My throat really hurts right now. Laughing this hard when you're congested is not good! |

| I thought it was only mildly amusing. I laughed hard in a number of places, but the stupidity on display just made me cringe for the most part. |

Some people go to church and listen in reverance to freaks pretending they are speaking in tongues..
Some people make movies ridiculing stuff like the aforementined, make people laugh til they cry and make millions of dollars into the deal.
I think I know who the stupid ones are. |

Well, that's great you feel that way. But for me, ambush humor wore out it's welcome around the time Tom Green showed up. And it was delivering more comedic cliches than your average Leno monologue.
As a comedy, Borat was just average. It wasn't unfunny, but hardly the social satire brilliance it's claimed to be.
Six out of ten. |

that was the point....but it is worth one watch. Sometimes ya just want to hear people say or do what is in your head. Just of *u*k with em.
The scene with the black guys was HYSTERICAL. Wish I could do that without getting all dead and stuff.

Well don't know what sweet Mr. Roger's neighboorhood you lived in but you start talking that "shite" to some black people in Long Beach or Compton there are going to be problems...Now there were cameras and such but I wish for you to please go down in the hood and do the same without cameras and report back. ]

I just finished watching "Shortbus," and the quote pops up there as well. "She's got a **** like a wizard's sleeve." I'm guessing this was the origin, as Borat's full of knock-off quotes (funnier second time around). |

I have.. maybe not in compton or long beach, but ... TAMPA *BAM* and .. Charlotte *BAM!*
Iirc, the Borat skit was filmed in Atlanta. Maybe ah.. southern homeboys are more approachable. |
