| I've used eBay since 1999, have a 100% postive feedback rating and have not had 1 problem with Paypal. |
Congratulations! However, many other people have had problems with Paypal, including myself.

Have you ever had to contact them? Just exactly how do you think they handle billing problems? Do they publish contact information on their website, such as an address or do they hide behind an IP with little intention of providing any service? Is there a toll-free customer service phone number to call?
Skype doesn't even offer a customer service telephone number, and emailing them with a problem results in a no reply acknowledgement that never gets answered or addressed. THEY IGNORE YOU AND TAKE YOUR MONEY! HOW IS THAT A BARGAIN?

| Listen Purple_Buddha. The calls to the US are only pennies a minute. You know, that saves me money. |
Listen to what? What is your infatuation with Skype anyway? You get what you pay for. Yes, it may be cheap but it is NOT "the end all be all" to calling home. Like I previously stated, in the event of getting overcharged/overbilled how much is your time worth to get it resolved?

| I've been using it for 3 months now. |
And, that makes you an expert on Skype (or anything else for that matter).

| I get an occasional disconnect, but thats no different from Cell Phones. |
In five years of using a cell phone in Korea I've never had a disconnect unless my battery or the person's battery on the other end had died. Likewise, I experienced one or two disconnects using pre-paid international phone cards over the same five year period.

| Quit trolling on this thread. I was recommending a form of communication to the US that is cost effective. |
How is disagreeing with you trolling? Like the shill you are, you attack as soon as someone disagrees with what you are saying. An $11 pre-paid phone card with 4 hours and 30 minutes on it is not cost effective? Just how cheap are you, op?

| Instead of typing whats "WRONG" with skypeOUT, why don't you do something constructive like offer alternatives. |
Instead of pretending to be an authority on Skype and attacking anyone who may disagree with you, admit that not everyone who has tried and used Skype is happy with it. Here are some alternatives to Skype, which anyone who can use an internet search bar can accomplish. http://www.voip-sol.com/10-skype-alternatives/
Get over yourself, pkang0202, like nobody on this board has ever heard of SkypeOUT before. |
TROLL ALERT!!! BTW, nice avatar. I'm suppose to take a pothead seriously because....? |

Absolutely agree with that purple... I'm considering alternatives because of this. They took 10 quid off me with no benefit to me and never responded.
Nahh... you're not trolling. Laugh off the pc police... |

Okay, I was paying $0.02 (US) per minute to call in Korea with skype out. Then I applied for a skype in number and now I pay $0.076 (US) per minute. I am looking into Yahoo as an alternative.

| Saint, how long did it take to get a response from them? It's been about a week for me and not a whisper. |

I am using skype, thanks to this thread, and have nothing but wonderful things from it thus far. Right now I am paying the .02 cents a minute. How did you get it to .076? |

Meanwhile, I'm still waiting to hear a real response (other than an automated, no-reply email) from Skype regarding a double billing on my credit card. That was just over a week ago, and I can hear the crickets singing from thousands of miles away.
Even in the event Skype bothers to address my problem and/or issues a refund, I will be uninstalling their software as soon as my minutes are used up and switching to another VOIP provider, like yahoo. Skype, Paypal, and their parent company, ebay, can all kiss my ass. |

I hope to have a similar resolution. If not, I'll be calling every remote relative and acquaintance back home just to avoid losing the extra minutes that I didn't purchase. |

I've been a big fan of Skypeout for awhile. Today I had my first problem.
When I went to buy more time, I entered my name and cc info. When I was supposed to be transferred to the 'Confirmation Page', I got a 'Cannot Find Server error. Been that way for hours now. |

skype forwards to my cell phone so my gf/family/friends can call me back home for pretty cheap (I have a US skypein number) and it costs me only 7 cents per minute to talk on my cell phone to them. It also forwards to my landline in my apt. Also, it includes voicemail and text messaging. Not a bad deal for $4/month + skypeOut money.
plus, it's easy to set up and automatically recharges when I'm low on funds. The convenience can't really be beat. |
