It is relative, Hollywood. But your comparison does not quite work.
Greater Toronto, Canada's largest metropolitan area, boasts a population of approximately 5 to 5.5 million, right?
Greater New York City/Metro area, one of the world's largest -- and possibly the densest -- megapolises, is home to nearly 20 million.
Washington, D.C., when one includes the Baltimore area to which it is linked, houses about 7 to 10 million, I believe. And it is plagued by a racial legacy from slavery that Canada never shared -- and this for accidental, biogeographical reasons, I remind you.
Toronto is no New York City or Washington, D.C., then. So of course the crime patterns will differ. |

The most telling stat is that mass murders really began to spike in the late 1960's about the same time liberals got out of control and God was relegated to the back bench.
But that could be coincidence, right? |
Even more telling is the fact that these mass murders also corelate with the beginning of the space age and the invention of the mini skirt.
You're a tool Steve. |

How can you Americans hate on Canadians when it comes to crime? Seriously, you're having a laugh.
I got a lot of respect for Canada. They're a chilled out Nation that don't do much to bother anybody. Congrats to you Canadians......you got a lot to be proud of! Civilized country, unlike your southernly neighbours.
It's all good though. They're getting their arses kicked in Iraq and the rest of the world is seeing their weaknesses. |

So you think the killing of soldiers and civilians in Iraq is a laughing matter?
You must have thought that the VT shootings were absolutely hilarious.

The point of war is not the issue under discussion here. Seems that you are the one missing a brain, or do you just need glasses? Don't take partial quotes and attempt to use them as evidence of something, it just makes you look foolish and dishonest.
Once again is the killing of soldiers AND CIVILIANS amusing?
That was the question. |

You can't lump soldiers with civilians together, its like apples and oranges.
And no its not amusing but certainly justified, killing soldiers that is. |

However I did not lump them together I put them into two separate groups SOLDIERS and CIVILIANS.
So if you were walking around Seoul and saw a Korean soldier you'd be justified in killing him if he was just standing there? |

NO, But if that Korean soldier invaded Canada and was standing there as part of an occupation force I would put one right between his eyes. |

True, but a Korean soldier is not an American soldier and Canada is not Iraq.
I understand that you're not the brightest light in this internet LED screen but you have to understand that some of us have family out in Iraq serving their time and your statements piss us off. |

I didn't send your family there. I, in fact, opposed it and protested and marched and wrote letters to stop it. Don't get pissy with me, there is only one man you need be pissy with. |

Slavery never existed in Canada? Wrong. We just got rid of it before you did. |

Well, isn't it obvious that they were forced to do something else? Many were domestic servants and some did agricultural labor.
PS. There is tobacco grown in Canada. |
