Hey Eamo, actually I was a fan of the Fugees and of Lauren Hill for a while. When that miseducation album came out I liked it, but kinda played it out. Wouldn't call it sex music, though.. maybe.. her voice just isn't sexy. Too raspy and gruff.

You guys talking about trance are right. That's good stuff. Seoulsucker, you do realize your description of Sasha's Airdrawndagger--start slow, build to tremulous heights, then coast on low--could fit basically any of his albums, right? hehe.. a little repetitive, but that's not such a bad thing if what's being repeated rules.

So, people have already mentioned Thievery Corporation and Kruder and Dorfmeister, which are simply amazing, but really that whole genre of downtempo music is what I have found to be the best. Nightmares on Wax is my personal favorite, but also Tosca and Peace Orchestra are amazing.

Aside from downtempo, I have to say that Prince and Stevie Wonder can't be beat.

Then again, I guess it all depends on what kind of sex you're having. I've had girls who would prefer nothing more than to listen to "Thunderstruck" with the volume at 11.

Did the OP really say he used Sarah McClachlan for sex? Shocked

Hmmm ,I always thought Qinella was a man. Who knew he's a 16 year old girl living in 1997 Wink

If it hasn't been said yet: Marvin Gaye and Berry White.

I like music but it never lasts for long, especially if you buy CD's. There might be one sexy song but then the next one is a dance track and the next one is an acoustic song and the next one is about people killing...

So, I don't think the question is about best artist, but best artist musics that can keep the same beat. It's all about the beat. The beat establishes the tempo. My answer is...

Nathaniel Merriweather.
Britney Spears.
Prince.
Janet Jackson.

I like Miles Davis and Coltrane but they aren't love making music unless you're tripping out on life.
