Damn, those must be weak shrooms.

Perhaps they were wet?

DMT...woah. If you've ever read the Electric Kool-Aid Acid test you'd never touch the stuff. The book glorifies Ken Kesey (One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest and acid guru extraordinaire) and LSD like none other. But DMT sends one of the characters into a serious funk for the following months, ultimately ending in a nervous breakdown.

No more of this stuff for me though. Last time I did LSD I didn't feel anything, and that scared me. And yes it was real because other people tripped off of the same batch.

Were you on an SSRI, like Paxil, at the time? They compete with LSD and ecstasy for the serotonin receptor so they'll greatly diminish a trip. By diminish I mean you won't trip.

And in case you ever were feeling experimental again, I highly recommend something like 2C-B or 2C-I. If there was a spectrum from LSD to ecstasy, which is chemically inaccurate, 2C-B would be smack dab in the middle. 2C-I would be a hair more towards LSD. Both mix the hallucinogenic properties of LSD with the empathic properties of ecstasy.

In my experiences, the people who claim it is bunk are the ones who didn't take bong rips of it. If you smoke a little personal bongload, you'll be, as you said, in another dimension. I wouldn't call it spiritual, though. Most people barely remember their experience, and I've never met someone who claims that is has changed their life. The reason for it not being illegal is because it affects different receptors in the brain from those affected by LSD, ayahuasca and other "spiritual" psychedelics. If you're looking for a spiritual experience, salvia won't do the trick. It will blow your mind, though. I, personally, did it about 10 times in a couple days and then never did it again. It's a cool thing to play with for awhile, but ultimately it's not that enjoyable, kinda scary, and has absolutely no benefits.

I remember all my experiences with salvia divinorum clearly. One of the experiences was life changing and at least two other times could be classified as spiritual or gnostic experiences. The remainder of the experiences were, if nothing else, insightful in some way.

While I agree the experience itself is not exactly enjoyable, I personally find the tail end quite euphoric and enjoy the sense of contentment that it brings me throughout the following days.

Perhaps I have approached my usage differently to yourself and some of the other posters? I definitely believe that salvia can offer many benefits to the user when used properly.

As a side note: Each time I consumed salvia it was legal in the country I consumed it in. Unfortunately some enterprising businesses began selling it in stalls at concerts and festivals as a recreational legal high and stuffed it up for everyone.

Each time I consumed %$#@$ and snorted %$#@$ and smoked %$#@$ in Korea, it was illegal.

For some reason, I always got hooked up in Itaewon. But never by Nigerians.

Salvia is the craziest s**t ever!!! I would never ever want to go back to the place that I went. However, some of my friends actually enjoy it...turned my friends room into bubblegum...this same person grows his own plants, talks about his portal and the garden he's growing there.

Absolutely not the case.

Of course, I'm speaking hypothetically here.

After eating mushrooms or LSD you start to trip, but the visuals are pretty mild (ie no pink elephants dancing in the corner...complete myth); while you're certainly not lucid you have a sense of where and who you are. Salvia, however, f*cks your mind so thoroughly that it literally (hypothetically, of course) feels like you're trapped in a different dimension. You have absolutely no control of yourself, nor do you know what is going on. After 5 minutes you look around and notice that you're in your apartment, but your friends are all giving you the "what in the f*ck just happened" look. A hypothetical roommate went completely bonkers and started screaming and took down the hypothetical television and hypothetical speakers and broke some hypothetical glass. Hypothetically it sounded like someone was getting murdered in the hypothetical apartment.

To sum it up, it's an absolutely insane herb. DEFINITELY do not use it if you're not ready to blast off. And even if you are, I probably wouldn't recommend it.
Hypothetically, of course

So, it makes total sense that it is illegal in South Korea. It's not something you want people who live in high-rise apartments to take.

Lol...the effects of acid and mushrooms are mild? I'd rather be a babbling psychopath for 5 minutes than be trapped on a hell trip for ten hours and scarred for life.

So, speaking of herbal highs...

Anyone know if Kratom has been scheduled in SK yet? It seems pretty cool. I would mind getting my hands on some.

http://www.erowid.org/experiences/subs/exp_Kratom.shtml

I know Australia banned it in 2004.

Other interesting herbs:
Yerba Mate - refreshing and healthy guarana-like tea
Yohimibe - Aphrodisiac
Calea - herb for vivid or lucid dreaming

I'd love to start and ethnobotanical nursery and grow all sorts of interesting plants! Not here of course...

Ok.

I had used salvia on a few occasions and felt comfortable with using it. I would normally smoke one bowl and thats it. this time i wanted to push the limits.

I had some 10x Salvia extract. I smoked three bowls of it and laid down in my bed. My ceiling fan was on and i had painted a spiral on it with glow in the dark paint one day. I turned off the light and stared at the fan. This is the weird part, Ill try to explain the best i can. As i was laying in the bed it actually felt like i was being zipped up like a zipper. I couldn't move. It started at my feet and slowly began zipping my body up. Almost like it was zipping me up into another world. As i was being zipped up from the feet up into another world my heart began beating really fast. I was scared and tried to resist the zipping sensation, it was no use. It slowly zipped me up like a zipper. It reached my head. At the moment it zipped me up completely I was in a different world. I was standing in a black environment, nothing but black. Every one of my family members were there including my dead grandfather in this black environment. They were all happy and glad to see me. At that point i remember feeling very calm and relieved. Next thing i know i started to gain "consciousness" again. I "woke up" so to say and i was yelling "THANK YOU GOD, THANK YOU GOD" It felt like i was peeing myself, but i wasn't. After i gained consciousness i felt really weird, like i had experienced something that made me feel like reality was not really reality. Like it is all fake. The only thing i can compare the feeling to is the movie The Matrix like when he realizes nothing is real. I felt odd like this for about 2 weeks. I thought I would never think normal thoughts again about life. Thankfully that horrible feeling passed. I have since never done salvia and have no intentions on ever doing so again.

All i can say is it is a very powerful substance, and it is definitely spiritual. But spiritual experiences as i had learned are not always pleasent. I am still amazed at how reality can be transformed literally in seconds. The mind is very powerful.

You really hit the point right here.

My experiences with mushrooms left the same impression on me and still to this day from time to time I wonder if everything around me is real or an illusion.

It's scary stuff and either I've been rewarded with a new sense of reality or I'm going insane.

Perhaps both.

Whatever the case, I strongly feel that mushrooms, salvia, LSD, and hell even herb are susbstances that ultimately relate to the state of death and what happens afterwards.

If you haven't already read DMT: The Spirit Molecule, you really should.

Huh, way late on this thread but had to comment:

We had 30X salvia extract. A bong and butane lighter. It did nothing for me. My girlfriend thought she became the letter M of the alphabet.

Here is why I commented though. My friend Chris took it and immediately laid back on the couch. He started screaming, "ZIPPERS! ZIPPER! OH GOD, ZIPPERS!" His commentary afterwards was exactly like yours. He then left his body and merged into and became a part of some wood on my entertainment center and found a strange world there.

I was crying and laughing histerically about his Zipper experience but damn if he didn't describe it the same way. I'll myspace him that just for his amuesment....

It did nothing for me but sometimes Salvia takes a few times before it works. Sometimes, it never does.

I keep hearing rumors that magic mushrooms can be had in South Korea. Never bothered to verify that but wouldn't mind to do so.

Cetain species of mushrooms do grow here. I've seen them, but haven't tried them.

I've always heard rumors that in some markets you can buy them.
